I would like to hope that I am closer to right on this than you. Not that you aren't entitled to your opinion, but I actually have found from my encounters with a good number of folks that post on here, that they are totally against illegals and because of the lack of protesting from the average and moderate Muslim, against what they fear, an imposition of Sharia law ultimately in this country, by masses of Muslim immigrants. I haven't heard Racist comments at all, other than those.
Most discussions, if I can call them that, about Muslims, have shown the concern is mostly that Radical Muslims are not called out by other Muslims.
I wasn't calling it racist, just pointing out a common theme I find up here - online and off. We are rather inclusive up here, mainly white folks, mainly all of a similar income range. Having lived in areas like this before, in Illinois, in Iowa, in Colorado, it's a common mindset. But I've also lived in big cities and college towns where whites were a minority, and it comes down to this - all just people.
I'll admit to poking people by posting that article. But then if you never learn anything new, how does the mind become open?
You are more right than me - because I can see the effect on the economy if all illegals were to suddenly go away. It's going to make our lives much harder all the way around. I cannot see a reason to make lives harder. (and yes, yes, yes, I've heard all the arguments about more jobs, etc - but how do you get whites with a sense of entitlement to clean hotel rooms or pick veggies?. Bottom line, you don't - unless you make it a law that everyone MUST work. And that will fly like a lead turd.)
I also have known a number of Muslims - and well, back to my first paragraph. Inclusive societies don't allow people to know that people are just people, regardless of religion, skin color or status.
As for radical muslims not being called out - turn it around - how often do we call out radical Christians? McVey - who called him out? Only recently has anyone started to bother to call out that waste of skin Fred Phelps, and he's been up to his hating crap for decdes! We cannot point a finger at them without pointing it at ourselves too - we are just as guilty. And if you don't think there are a lot of Christian boys over in the military showing their hatred of Muslims and all they stand for - and getting away with it - think again.

Yeah and most all are untrue other than the one that says all blonds are ditzy!
And some brunettes are more blond-like than most blonds...don't know anyone like that... :Whistle
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
