So where are the stars this time?

Thank you for confirming my assumptions... You never disappoint.

I didn't realize we were all of sudden talking about "our charity programs"... But of course, you would assume that...

However, it is rather telling that the conservatives are sitting around throwing shots and wondering why the (liberal) stars "aren't doing something."

That was not my point. I was not throwing shots. I was stating my opinion.

Of those surveyed, those who live in conservative households donated an average of $3,255 to charities outside of places of worship during the past year. By comparison, moderate households donated $2,926 and liberal households donated $1,879.

Conservatives also give significantly more money to their place of worship than liberals and moderates.

The survey found conservatives gave, on average, $1,841 to their places of worship during the past year — compared with $1,115 for moderates and $499 for liberals.

But while conservatives give more than their peers, they are less likely to spread the word to others about their giving experiences.

Now go ahead and discredit the source as usual.

I would like to see a survey like that done based on income and political leanings. Or.....how the conservatives and liberals compare based on volunteering time rather than money. I live in a neighborhood here in AZ where people tend to volunteer a lot....most of those I have met are liberals, but we do have a few conservatives (unusual neighborhood for AZ I think) I don't see a lot of difference in how people give of their time, which to me is a lot harder to do than to just write a check.

I will be interested at some stats later (even though that does not prove much). But I would like to point out that my original post said nothing about liberals and stars being connected. I said stars.

I was not taking shots at libs I guess I was taking shots at stars. tongue:

Just trying to make the point that liberals don't give more to charity than conservatives. Just because we see some brain dead actors on tv with a big production, that doesn't mean anything in the big picture of charity in this country. I help my elderly neighbors year round plowing driveways, raking leaves, or whatever they need that I can help with. I just don't announce it to anyone (except just now) and none of you know who I am anyway.

My personal opinion is that there are more liberals who want the government to handle charity and therefore they don't have to worry about giving as much since the brains in Washington are so good at distributing it efficiently with our taxes (a little sarcasm in case you missed it)

I did not say "governmental" charity programs. I meant all charity programs, both private and public. And I believe that the relief programs were introduced in the very first post.

There are no stars because Japan is not some third-world country incapable of taking care of itself. Only one part of the country was hit. They are dealing with it. We are providing aid and that's as far as it should go on our part. There are no need to stars to hold a telethon for the Japanese. We support them enough already.

I would be interested in finding out how many liberals live off the government tit? I am amazed how many 55+ year old retirees I meet are getting one or two checks from the government.

Most conservatives don't have a lot of time to volunteer during the day...they are usually working to pay taxes to support libtards and socialist,or raising the future tax payers. Even with the challenges faced by conservatives, I would bet per capita conservatives serve the community higher than liberals.

Media is confused that the Japanese want to take care of themselves. That's something that is foreign to socialist.

Furthermore, the stars only donate when they can get applauded or recent recognition for their donations....conservatives typically donate quietly and anonymously and without fanfare....

Why don't the Hollywood stars just donate instead of doing it with fanfare? Nashville country stars and Christian musicians gave millions without fanfare...and many got dirty helping their community...despite being ignored by the mainstream media.
