The new family called Jeffco Animal Control today with an update on Old Yellow Dog and said he has found his forever home, most definitely, with her and her family. They absolutely love him. He gets along great with her other dogs and sleeps and plays with them. He loves the 15 month old toddler and follows him everywhere. He is very well mannered and well trained. If you tell him to go to his place he goes over to the dog bed and lays down. He also knows basic commands. He is eating well and continues to put on weight. He had his vet visit and though the tumor is cancerous it will be removed and his blood work came back great. The vet did not foresee any reason the cancer will spread at this time. (Old Yellow Dog now lives with another cancer survivor dog).

He went hiking in Leadville last week with the family. They always go on this hike but figured if it was too much for him they would cut it short. Well he just kept going and going, loving every minute of it and chased some prairie dogs. When they came to the river he decided he didn't do water so Katie carried him across. She got about half way, the water was waist level to her, he relaxed and started paddling then swam the rest of the way by himself.

He now has his own new collar with new tags and is already answering to his new name. What did they name him, you ask? Well . . . . .
Jefferson . . . .of course (hee-hee)
