Forest Order
Occupancy and Use Restrictions
Pursuant to Title 16 U.S.C. § 551, and Title 36, C.F.R. § 261.50 (a), the following act is prohibited on a portion of National Forest System lands within the South Platte Ranger District of the Pike National Forest, Park County, State of Colorado, hereinafter referred to as the Restricted Area. This Order is necessary to protect public health and safety during vegetation treatment operations.
The Restricted Area is located in the 6th Principal Meridian, T6S, R72W, sections 7,8, 17, 18, 19,20, and T6S, R73W, sections 12 and 13. The Restricted Area is further defined as follows:
T6S, R72W: Those portions of sections 7, 8, and 17 that lie west of the watershed divide between Elk Creek and North Elk Creek. All National Forest System lands in sections 18, 19, and 20.
T6S, R73W: All of section 12. All of section 13 except those portions that lie south of National Forest System Road (NFSR) 107 and west of NFSR 108. The Restricted Area includes the roadbeds of NFSRs 107 and 108 and a 100-foot buffer measured from the centerline of these roads.
The Restricted Area is shown on the attached map hereby incorporated into this order as Exhibit A. This order is necessary to provide for public health and safety.
PROHIBITIONS:
Going into or being upon the Restricted Area, from midnight on January 2, 2011, through midnight, May 26, 2011. (36 C.F.R. § 261.53(e))
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
1) Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty;
2) Persons with a Forest Service permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
This Order shall remain in effect from midnight on January 2, 2011, until rescinded, or through midnight, May 26, 2011.

Violations of this prohibition are punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. (16
