Fishing Pole... Help me. LOL was created by CinnamonGirl
Quincy is going to open in a couple of weeks. I am going to get a couple new poles and reels. Have any recommendations on inexpensive ones? Especially the reels. How many bearings do I really need?

Thank you in advance.

Try a Zebco 202 for an inexpensive reel.

Garcia, Zebco, or Pflueger. These are wonderful spincast reels. Garcia is most probably the best and sells for less than $50. Zebco and Pflueger sell for less than that.

The question of a pole is another matter. The variables to be considered are quite numerous.

I prefer the closed face reels. I started at age 5 or 6 with a zebco 202 my grandfather bought me. The rod is long gone but I still have the reel.

CG this got some good reviews.

Wish I could help more. I haven't purchase a new spin or bait cast in years. I fix up my old stuff or go to garage sales. My equipment takes a beating some years, but I tend to baby my fly fishing gear.

If you ever get into fly fishing, I would suggest trying out an automatic reel. I still have my grandfathers Martin and Pflueger makes on that is very similar.

Fine on poles. I bring three all ready for different things, I have more than three though. One is a bottom hook set up then a bubble fly and a lure pole. In the summer with the bass I use a much heavier one. Brands are good but I am looking for the actual model.

My reels take alot from me. In the spring I try, or have in past years, fished everyday.
