Iphones. Wow. I hope they don't do the same to me. I finally got a phone with a keyboard because all my friends were complaining that I would not text them. I just wonder why I can't call them instead. LOL

Texting, isn't that like using the telegraph?

I think voice capability was a technological advancement over that

I can see it now, "I'm dead and just getting crap from telemarketers, why did I want this with me?"

Text messaging is increasing dramatically and calls are going down. It's the convenience factor. You can read a text whenever you want and you're done. It's not intrusive. You can call someone who is in the middle of something and who can't give you their full attention. Plus, you can be texting more than one person at a time without each person knowing about the others. Can't do that with a call.

And, text messaging uses less bandwidth than voice. It's greener.

Nobody. But he was apparently his iPhone was a big part of his life -- enough to request it go with him.

I was posting more about calling vs. texting, in general.

Pineguy, I know it is convenient for some situations but not convenient when you are available to talk. I do text when someone is working and cannot answer. This thing about texting constantly is not something I understand. But at least now I have a keyboard and I am better about it. But I only text when I have to. LOL
