Instead of going to Amazon.com, instead type in smile.amazon.com, then log in with the same account username and password as you do on Amazon.com. All your wish lists, registries, and purchase history will be the same, as will the available products, deals, and specials. The prices for the items are exactly the same as on Amazon.com too, though not all items are eligible to be counted towards the donation. Alternatively, if your organization of choice is a participant in CO Gives Day, schedule your one-time or recurring donation(s) through there. Scheduling it exactly on CO Gives Day (the first Tuesday of December each year) gives an added bonus that "Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day will receive a portion of the $1+ million Incentive fund, increasing the value of every dollar donated."

One note of caution: we did not vet these organizations and many had no descriptions at AmazonSmile. Before choosing one, please be sure that the organization does still exist and is in compliance with the IRS. We recommend a quick Google search of the organization's name to find if they have a website, active Facebook Page, or other website listing (such as GuideStar or TaxExemptWorld). You can usually get their EIN (Employer Identification Number/Tax ID) that you can use to search that IRS form above. You can also search the IRS database by organization name or city and state, though the latter are not as useful for returning results we've found.
