He's already thinking about completing the Pikes Peak Marathon in late August, though it may not be his record time.

3 weeks ago, Bill defied the odds and survived an accident and injury that could have easily claimed his life.
The medical staff who helped in those first traumatic hours said that because of how extensive his injuries were, and the shock that his body had suffered that we should anticipate his recovery to include about 3 weeks in ICU care, followed by a minimum of several more weeks in general hospital care.
Tonight he sleeps at home.
Although it will take time for Bill to recover his physical strength, and to heal the variety of fractures he's received, this is a race that he is running with a pace to win in record time.

Bill is continuing to rest at home, in the terms that he would consider as rest, which means do therapy work first and rest when he has less energy. He's managed to go up and down a flight of stairs, as well as walk up the hill of the mountain about 50 yards. The physical therapist has even had him doing some excercise work on the floor. He's suprised by how quickly he sometimes loses energy, but it doesn't take too long for him to recover it back. His lungs are still reconditioning themselves. For an endurance runner, it may not be much, but compared to what the physicians had expected at this point it's incredible. Bill had a follow up visit at the hospital yesterday, and they have told him that he can continue to monitor his recovery with his family doctor.
The ranch also has a full-time on-site helper, Kevin, who is not only experienced with handling all sorts of critters, but he's also a ferrier. His help, as well as the help of all the other friend and family volunteers up on the mountain has been an incredible blessing.
