Definition of a great day?

21 Nov 2011 10:06 #21 by Wayne Harrison
Why is it that some people try to keep a thread from moving along its natural course? Regular face-to-face conversations don't stay on topic and those in the conversation aren't reminded that they must stay on topic, unless it's a business meeting.

Are people not capable of following conversations that move from sub-topic to sub-topic?

You auditioning for a PC mod position?

I have thought exactly the same thing shortly after starting this thread.
I figured i would just let some show their true colors.
It is sad to watch.

All I wanted to do was say out loud that I had a great lunch with a dear friend.
That's it.
I wanted to hear about how others here spend a great day.

(adding another to my "ignore" list)

I don't think anyone was trying to control the direction of the thread....
I think many are just sick and tired of the downward spiral many of the threads take at your hands here.

Now.....you can continue to bait and argue and bring your special brand of negative to the table but this is my last response to anything you ever post here.
Happy ThanksGiving

Not at all. Normally there is a connection of some relevancy. What I witnessed had little to do with conversation as much as it had to do with baiting and stirring the pot. It's one thing to question someone's perspective and disagree and another to act stupid as if not understanding the point another was making.

So few threads are non-political or outrage related, that something like this was most welcomed. Can't we just have people express their views without being antagonistic? Kind of like where I'd like to go now but shall refrain.

A great day is each one that brings me closer to home and into the embrace of my family.

You guys are getting way to Pinecammy -- asking questions and stating opinions is baiting. Getting off subject is frowned upon.

Should we all get together and sing Kum bah ya? Would that be an approved action?

Could we maybe have one or two threads that don't replay the same telenovella of personal antagonism? A few posters make every thread about their distaste for each other. It's petty and boring.

I have great days when I get to go to work. I love my job.
I have great days when I get to be home and enjoy whatever it is I do when I have nowhere to be and nothing that has to get done.
I have great days when I spend those days with friends.

I rarely have a completely "bad" day. There is just too much to a day to discount the whole day as bad.

*****, I suspect you are just trolling for a reaction and some attention. Maybe you and VL, assuming you are not both the same person - lately it's been hard to tell, could schedule a play date and compare trolling tactics? It's hardly worth the time or keystrokes it takes to respond to you but maybe I hit a nerve or maybe you forgot to take your meds? Can't wait to read what you barf up next justifying your position, behavior, and faux command of the 285bound site... Actually I tell I lie, I couldn't care less about what you have to say anymore.

PS - This post is a part of my great day even though it's a Monday!

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Actually, I was pointing out that you trying to control what is posted in a discussion thread is exactly like a PC mod. It's the very thing many on here complain about.

For the record, I have no command of 285Bound, faux or otherwise. And that makes it a great day for me.
