I never said there was a written POLICY. I said there is a WRITTEN PREFERENCE and it is in the description of the Courthouse. I even included the forum description in my post.

As as moderator I would think you would be more familiar with the forum descriptions:

now it is

Even if it were true that there is a written preference, that isn't the same as not being allowed.

What do you mean, "Even if it were true that there is a written preference"?? Read the forum descriptions. It IS true.

You're correct on the second part. I was wrong saying it wasn't allowed, and I apologize for my grievous error.

So I guess that means I can go into any Campfire post and post something political then, huh?

There are no hard and fast rules about political posts being "forbidden" or "allowed" in the Campfire. We have descriptions of each forum written as sort of "guidelines" to help posters decide which forum would be most appropriate for whatever they want to post, but there is a lot of overlap. For example, a politically-themed movie can go in either the Courthouse or the Bound to be Entertaining Forum, and that largely depends on the tone of the discussion about the topic.

Descriptions are provided to help keep the board organized and help people find a subject matter; if you have something political to post about, for example, it behooves you to put it in the Courthouse so it will be seen by those looking to read political topics (as there are many members who have stated before that they rarely look at any other forum than the CH, so your post elsewhere would miss them).

If something political is posted elsewhere, we will move it to where more people will see it to keep everything organized or leave it and just watch the tone of the discussion and move it to a forum where comments are a little more heated. Everything is on a case-by-case basis so you guys don't have to worry about rules, or "getting in trouble for doing something wrong". (I can't possibly think of where that might have happened before!).

now if this is the statement that is being claimed is false, then that is true. We haven't and wouldn't ever tell anyone to change their post in the Campfire "because political posts aren't allowed in the Campfire". If something was changed it was for another reason.

I reminded him with my post about it not being a political post. Then he changed it. I never said you contacted Otis.

As as moderator I would think you would be more familiar with the forum descriptions:

The entire scanner team, for the purpose of needing to modify emergency threads and posts, have been given moderator status of their forum only. Unfortunately, the system can't distinguish between actual moderators and the scanner team, so our apologies, but no one can foe any member of the scanner team.
