JSG, do you know how many people depend on the authorities to tell them what to do in emergencies? That may be the problem. If the authorities really do believe that people need to decide for themselves they should be crystal clear unless I am missing something here.

I really believe this, people have been conditioned not to trust their instincts but to trust in the authorities. They should be taking that seriously.

They said at a recent briefing, "Don't wait for us to tell you to evacuate."
I don't know how much clearer they could be.

There you go....... Put it all over their website, on all 911 sign up sites and plaster it every where. In an emergency you don't have the time or the emotions to think about it.
SIMPLY PUT (avoid the diversions) - we pay for all this - people DIE because of incompetence. No excuses - 911 failed and controlled burns caused the fire - what !!!!!!

I know people on Soda Creek Rd (north of Evergreen) and north Brook Forest Road that recieved emergency alert notifications alerts on Monday. What good did that do? They were nowhere near the fire and all the call did was make them panic and question if there was maybe another fire. The lady on Brook Forest actually started to gather her stuff to bug out before her husband came home and told her to chill.
