Software Glitch? That is a term software programmers use to report defective programming code to clueless non-techie managers.

It could something as simple as entering the addresses in the wrong area in the data base.

I got an evacuation notice text alert and I don't live anywhere near there.

Can I go home now?

We got an alert too - thought maybe it was because they were fearful of the winds shifting, but we are north and west of the target area. We packed up the cars and spent a sleepless night nonetheless.

I got an evacuation call and I live a mile from Evergreen Lake. I too hope I get to go home soon.

'Software glitch'. That's the term middle managers use to describe the crappy data they fed into a well tested software system and it screwed up. Garbage in, Garbage out.

As fast as this fire moved....I don't think it would have mattered.

I heard their software lets them set the radius around the event for the emergency alert notification calls, which they did, but in their haste they hit the "send all" button instead.

Still, it's nice to be able to be notified by SMS when something's going on at home and I'm no where near a computer.

How can we find out if we are in the 911 data base? I do live near the fire area but did not receive a call.
