Amazing Dog rescue on Mt. Bierstadt! Must read.

Damn I haven't seen Glen Beck's website in a long time. I will have to check it out. Thanks for the reminder. Doubt I will ever agree with everything he has to say but he often makes good sense.

While I think the owner learned his lesson, it makes me a lot happier knowing that the dog is with one of the rescuers who more than likely wouldn't consider taking him on a hike or would do everything he could to retrieve in a situation like that. Looks like dog will get lots of tlc.

I can tell you that I carried my 70-pound mixed breed out once when I thought she'd broken a leg. She was down and not using one leg. Soaking wet form playing in a stream and I picked her up and carried her. I thought I was going to bust an artery or something, huffing and puffing. Face so red I could feel it, and finally when I'd gone as far as I could, I gently laid her down. I expected her to lay there in pain, instead she looked at me, gave me a goofy dog smile, hopped up and trotted down the trail.............. Darned dog!
