Back in Mi. a peacock wandered into our yard and took up residence. It took a little while to get used but we came to enjoy his sounds.

I am just preparing to protect myself and my family from a world where people would rather take my stuff than earn their own.

i don't call the sheriff on my neighbors for dirt bike riding, loud music or recreational shooting.
We all moved up here to enjoy our freedom......no matter what that looks like.
I am confused why folks move up here and get 10 dogs and then leave them to their own devices though.
That one is a bit annoying.
I bought acreage so my children could grow up enjoying things their city peers could not.
Can't let my kids ride a go kart all over my property and then cry fowl when the neighbor does it to.

In ALL things mountain, the PRIMARY issue is respect. Shooting is a way of life, BUT when the practice (on your own property)
goes on for HOURS and is,for the most part non-stop.....there is a problem of NO respect. Same goes for dogs barking. IF you
own an acre of land and you have 3 quads and a dirt bike, running a "circuit" on the acre.....NO respect........yes, mountain "freedom"
is a truly great thing, but when RESPECT for your neighbor is forgotten, it becomes an issue. Moderation goes along way in creating
a "peaceful" co-existence. JMO

Been saying that a long time, where has the RESPECT gone? It used to be taught, (by perants & teachers alike), NO MORE.
When some punk comes up to me (I've earned these grey hairs), and says "What the F**K, Dude?" I'll leave because I can't SLAP the little sh*t, I'll go to jail. WHAT BS.

At least the frequent gunfire keeps the local wildlife out of the neighborhood.

As it should because they are pests, and do not need to be in the mtns.
