Guess I have been living in a box as I did not know about the storm headed for the east coast this weekend through Wednesday.

I just now sent the email to all of my family that direction.

They are saying this could turn into "The Perfect Storm"

There is an asterisk but if everything lines up just right Hurricane Sandy could be a whopper of a storm. I hope those in the path of this storm heed the early warning and bug out just in case!

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I'm in Boston now, taking care of the grands while their folks are at a convention on the west coast. They're supposed to back Monday midnight and I'm to fly home Tuesday afternoon. The kids and I are shopping this afternoon for the "worst case". It's nice that I can stay longer if flights are messed up.

U.S. government forecasters said there is a 90 percent chance — up from 60 percent two days earlier — that the East Coast will get pounded.

sounds a little like Hurricane Agnes (a tropical storm merged with a low pressure system to wreak havoc on the east coast)

So the mid-Atlantic waters are the hottest they've been for October in recorded history - which will continue to power Sandy and lead to increased rainfall. Computer modeling predicts "an increase in heavy precipitation events in the 21st Century due to climate change is going to be a big problem for a flood control system designed for the 20th Century's climate." via Weatherunderground.com
