Thursday night was the Conifer Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Awards, and we are humbled and proud to have been chosen as the 2016-2017 Home-Based Business of the Year! We were in such tremendous company as The Fairy Dust Mother, LLC who has grown her business 70% in the past year and hired several new employees, helping grow and support our local economy, and Image Marketing Specialists who has served this community for over 26 years - we can only aspire to last as long and do as well!
A huge congratulations to our fellow winners and business partners, Brooks Place Tavern, for being named Business of the Year and Mad Jack's Mountain Brewery for being chosen Rookie Business of the Year! Both businesses give back so much to our community and their owners are heavily involved and generously supportive of others. You won't find finer people.
We look forward to many more years serving our community! Thank you to our advertisers and all of you who make us the best we can be!

I'm incredibly honored to receive this award by the Conifer Area Chamber of Commerce because of the amazing company I am in with the
past winners:
Melissa Baker, Arman and Donna Prescott, Yvonne Ludwig, Katie Bartojay, Lance Swearengin, Punky Kiefer, Jennifer Eleniewski, Jacque Scott, and Norman F. Meyer.
The Norman F. Meyer Award is given for "Outstanding Service to our Mountain Community." All of these people exemplified community service over many years, and they've been the best mentors and examples to emulate. It's cheesy, but the old adage "you get back what you give" is right on point. This is a shiny award, but the true reward is felt every day you are involved in things that make a positive difference for those who live and work in your community. It's a blessing to have that opportunity.
I have to also congratulate my business partner, Mark Spiroff at Conifer Radio for winning Rookie Business of the Year, and the lady who has jumped in with both feet and gone all out participating in her community, Amber Burr of Daddy's Homemade Syrup for being named Home-Based Business of the Year. Both of them started their businesses right as COVID hit and have rolled with the punches, given back more than you would think possible, and done so with enthusiasm, grace, and authenticity. I'm proud to know and work with them.

Something I didn't share earlier was this ShoutOut Colorado article from last month. They were kind enough to interview me and publish an article on My Mountain Town as well.
We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharon Trilk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
