Wow! This is going to piss off a lot of petrol heads, having electric vehicles outdo their Detroit gas guzzlers.

Obviously they can't compete in keeping up with the super cars, but I still wonder what a Nascar of electric vehicles would look like. B)

NASCAR with electric vehicles? Would need a quick charge option!
They do race electric vehicles on the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Eerie seeing cars racing by with no engine noise, just tire squeals.

Nope, battery swap! They have to figure out how to step it up b/c they fill up a lot faster on the track than at the pump, but what fun would solving that problem be? :P

Tesla has finally unveiled their SUV and oh my, have they gone above and beyond engineering this thing (reading about that had me more thrilled than the 0 to 60 - how weird is that?)! I'm in love, now I just need $132,000. :P

Tesla Model X revealed: 250-mile range, falcon doors, Ludicrous mode
By Nick Jaynes

FREMONT, California — Turns out, the top-hinged falcon doors are the least surprising part of the new Tesla Model X.

In true Tesla fashion, Elon Musk, company co-founder and CEO, pulled the covers off the Model X with a large helping of braggadocio and drama at the company headquarters in Fremont, California Tuesday night.

I had a chance to drive Tesla's long-awaited Model X earlier in the day, and Musk has good reason to exercise all of his grit: The new, all-electric crossover SUV has a lot to brag about. And, honestly, for as much as Elon Musk likes to leak about Tesla developments, he's held a lot of the details of the Model X close to the vest.

Rimac Nevera is an electric hypercar that goes from 0-60 mph in 1.85 seconds
By Stan Schroeder, Mashable | Jun 01, 2021

In March 2018, Rimac Automobili, an electric carmaker and high-performance battery specialist from Croatia, announced the Rimac C_Two. The concept electric sports car boasted 1,914 horsepower and the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in 1.85 seconds.

Now, the production version of the car has been rebranded as the Rimac Nevera (which means "sudden storm" in Croatian). The stats are the same: 1,914 horsepower, 258 mph top speed, 0 to 60 mph in 1.85 seconds, and a quarter mile time of 8.6 seconds.

And yes, those numbers are nuts, even in an era when super-fast electric cars are becoming commonplace. For example, Tesla's Plaid variant of the Model S sedan goes from 0 to 60 mph in 1.99 seconds.
