Evacuation Ordered for Residents Near CR 403 and Alpine Meadows Lane

On March 30, 2023 at 11:39 AM Park County Emergency Communications advises residents in the 1 mile area of County Road 403 and Alpine Meadow Lane to evacuate immediately due to a fire in the area. This is a full and immediate evacuation – residents in the area are asked to leave immediately.

The emergency shelter location is the Lake George Community Center located at 39141 US 24, Lake George, CO 80827.

If you have large animals and livestock to evacuate, please go to the Lake George Fairgrounds located at 37371 Highway 24 in Lake George, C 80827.

Updates will be provided as soon as possible. Please call the evacuation line at 719-836-4200 for updates.

A grass fire has prompted mandatory evacuations in eastern Park County. This area is about 6 miles southwest of Florissant.

The impacted area is between Guffey and Lake George. Alpine Meadows Ln is a road in Pike Forest Estate and intersects CR 403 between Forest Lane and Homestake Place. Fire is holding at 30 acres. State helicopter is providing air support.

Update on the Wildfire and Evacuation Near Lake George
3 pm update

Park County, CO – As of 3 PM the wildfire burning in Park County between Lake George and Guffey has reached 30 acres with minor spread to the north and northeast. An evacuation was ordered for the impacted area of County Road 403 and Alpine Meadows Lane. The area North to Northeast of Homestake Place and County Road 403 is also under a mandatory evacuation. Alpine Meadows Lane is a road in Pike Forest Estate and intersects CR 403 between Forest Lane and Homestake Place.

The fire was reported at 10:52 AM by a nearby resident. The response has been swift and led by the Lake George Fire Protection District and assisted by the Hartsel Fire Protection District; Florissant Fire Protection District; Cripple Creek Fire Department; Divide Fire Protection District; Teller County Sheriff’s Office and Animal Control; United States Forest Service and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife. In addition, Bulkhide Fire Services is providing a type 5 company and the state provided air support with a helicopter while the UPRAD (Ute Pass Regional Ambulance District) is staged in the area as well.
