I agree with JMC that there probably is some mental illness with this 8 year old. And I wouldn't be surprised if his mother suffers from it as well. What do you do with cases like this? Who's responsible if both mother and child are mentally ill?

I'm suprised that you did'nt suggest they be euthanized. You do have a heart, it's tiny but at least unlike HEARTLESS, there's somethin there.
