Significantly expanded Pell grants, which help low-income students pay for college.
Expanded hate crime law in the US to include sexual orientation through the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act.
Provided stimulus funding to boost private sector spaceflight programs.
Signed financial reform law establishing a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to look out for the interests of everyday Americans.
Signed financial reform law requiring lenders to verify applicants' credit history, income, and employment status.
Signed financial reform law prohibiting banks from engaging in proprietary trading (trading the bank's own money to turn a profit, often in conflict with their customers' interests).
Signed financial reform law allowing shareholders of publicly traded companies to vote on executive pay.
Cut prescription drug cost for medicare recipients by 50%
Provided $12.2 Billion in new funding for Individuals With Disabilities Education Act.
Extended Benefits to same-sex partners of federal employees.
All of which are actually takeovers of industry and control of the average American. Nice try though. The Financial Reform Act is taking over and controlling the Banks.
Reducing Prescription Drug Cost by 50%?????
You mean by cutting those drugs from the coverage?
Significantly increasing Pell Grants, of which he unlawfully used himself? This is just another Entitlement program.
I would swear that George Bush expanded the hate crime laws for Matthew Shephard, but I am not convinced that Hate Crime Laws are a good thing. We don't need more laws, We need to enforce the ones that we have. We already have and had laws on the books that made the crimes enforceable. These laws are intended to draw attention to the crimes to advance the agendas. Now every sexual orientation is made to be normal, and IMO, they are not.
Wow, did we need private sector stimulus for space flight?
HOW ABOUT F****** JOBS????
How about the promises?
Did we not have laws that lenders were supposed to follow? We did, until the Democrats pushed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac down our throats making sure that every body could buy a home even IF THEY couldn't afford one.
I've come to the conclusion that it wouldn't matter what anyone posts about Obama, you would most definitely take issue with anything he does, simply because he has 'D' after his name. Am I wrong?
Yes, you are wrong in this case. I'm not defending Obama, I was merely answering Nmysys' question. He asked why anyone would vote for Obama. I did a quick google search with that phrase and that web site came up. I listed some of the reasons that were on that page. That's all that happened.
I will admit to having voted in the past for a candidate that was a Democrat. His name was John F. Kennedy. Does that mean anything? I tried to find a value in any of the wonderful accomplishments of President Obama that you listed and couldn't.
BTW I am waiting for Lee Iacocca to announce that he is running.
Kate, OK..thanks for explaining that. I believe you..the list you posted was one that would cause some great debate..for me, its jobs, oil and helping people save their homes. I would love to see him doing that..

I would, too, but some of those things he has attempted to address, like helping people save their homes - for one thing, didn't he have a first time buyers program?
In terms of oil, what exactly should he do? Drilling now would take forever for the oil to get here and reduce the cost. Even if Bush had opened up Alaska to drill during his term, I still don't think we'd be seeing that oil in our gas tanks, even now.
What about jobs? What can a President really do to get people jobs? Several on here have claimed that the President has no affect on jobs, so which is it?
