Each party would pick 10 candidates based on the GOP or DNC website and 6 independents or minor party types would be picked. And every week, one or two people would be voted off. This should cut down on the need for campaign donations. And once the top 2 are picked, then you can have the election.

I think we'd all be better off if the parties were not allowed to select a single candidate for our consideration on the final ballot. Let anyone with the gumption to serve in that capacity do what is necessary to get themselves on the ballot and let the citizens pick from anyone who seeks the office instead of only a single member of each party. The reason we are in the fix we're in has more to do with party politics than it does anything else. Get rid of the party whittling down the field before the election and we'll all be better off.

Is there any bone in your body that's not completely partisan?

And the same can be asked for most on this board.... there might be a few people, like maybe pineinthegrass who are not so partisan as much as they are well versed on the issues individually and judge issues based on their knowledge, instead of just plain party line.

Although I have noticed that there are more than a few righties that are so hyper-partisan that they can't see anything but what they read on world nut daily news, either that or are just plain (hatefully) against anything suggested or implemented by President Obama.....
