Newt Gingrich Announces Presidential Run on Facebook,Twitter

I just love the rationalizations......since Clinton did it....it gives all the Republicans the freedom to cheat all they want? I am curious if the conservatives here actually approve of cheating? Now that wouldn't surprise me much, since there seems to be a lot of it going on by congressmen and senators, and if they are republicans we never hear a conservative here condemn it, they only bring up Clinton. From that I can only conclude that Republicans have a license to cheat, democrats shall be forever condemned for it. Hypocrites.

I am a card carrying Republican and find Newt to be a scumbag, but I think Hilary and Bill Clinton are too.

This is not about making it okay for the Dems because they admit it. They are both jerks.

"Honey it was just a blow job in the oval office. I told you I like sex."

"Your right sweetheart, I don't know why that bothered me."

Saying that a blowjob is different from infidelity is ridiculous. That was my point.

A blow-job is hardly in the same category as cheating on two previous about-to-be-divorced ex-wives

Did anyone say that what Clinton did was OK? You just can't admit that every time a Republican is cought cheating the first thing posted by a conservative is that Clinton got a blow job. How else are we to interpret that but that it's OK for Republicans to do it because Clinton did it? Personally.....I don't condone any of it, I think it's incredibly stupid of a politician to put their political life on the line for sex.... in today's world you WILL get cought.

Archer:

No one was saying that Republicans can do it but Democrats can't . You will take anything that is posted and twist around to some really zany logic only you can follow. I only posted about Clinton's behavior as a result of LJ's first response. Gingrich didn't just get caught Archer!!!!

I see no reason to defend or defame Gingrich, so I don't so either.

Cinnamon Girl:

We have to remember that Clinton told us that he Did Not Have Sex with that woman, which was to say that a Blowjob is not equal to having an affair. Either way it is hypocrisy, Gingrich as well as Clinton and all of the rest, like John Edwards, etc. It makes no difference what letter goes before or after their name for political party.

Can you give some examples of high profile Republicans the have advertised their "self righteousness" in the last decade? Maybe there are some but I don't remember except in the 1990s. If just a few say they are champions of "moral values", you really can't paint everyone with that brush just like there are Democrats who have associations with Communists, you can't paint all Democrats either.

It does make it nice and simple to do that and TRY to ingrain that image in the minds of voters though...both sides do it and it's just dishonest.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

My bad....I was not referring to this thread, but threads in the past when a Republican first gets cought......Gingrich was cought ages ago. Sorry if it came across that way, though I doubt you will believe me when I say I really wasn't referring to this thread but my recollection of threads in the past

but then nmysys had this little gem....he certainly didn't chime in on what he thought about Gingrich, only what he thought about democrats.

nmysys wrote: Liberals didn't give a damn about the sanctimony of marriage when Clinton was in office, why would they now? Oh, I see, it is because Gingrich is a Republican.

Kind of a pot-kettle-black thing don't ya think?
