Can you give some examples of high profile Republicans the have advertised their "self righteousness" in the last decade? Maybe there are some but I don't remember except in the 1990s. If just a few say they are champions of "moral values", you really can't paint everyone with that brush just like there are Democrats who have associations with Communists, you can't paint all Democrats either.

It does make it nice and simple to do that and TRY to ingrain that image in the minds of voters though...both sides do it and it's just dishonest.

I'm going on recollection here....but I do recall at the time all the flack hit the fan about Clinton this was a point made over and over again....that the young people didn't consider a blow job as actual sex.

FWIW LJ, I wouldn't trust anyone to keep a promise to me when he had proven that he couldn't keep the promise to forsake all others that he'd made to his wife. Newt may have the political bona fides from his previous years in the Congress, but his other activities make him someone I could not support in the quest to be the nominee of the party. I will be honest enough to say that given a choice between him and Obama I'd hold my nose and vote for Newt, but I would have to say that it would be more of a vote against Obama than a vote for his challenger.
