Florida governor signs welfare drug-screen measure

Finally a state that is getting it right!! I am so proud of them, and the rest of the country needs to follow. No way should any tax dollars be given out to welfare recipients who are spending any of it to buy drugs. Drug test anyone who gets our tax dollars handed to them.

Again it just goes to show how important every election is and how important it is to elect Republicans into office. Thank God he won a close election in 2008.

We could drop 75% of these looters off the gobberment cheese after the first round of tests!

So much for small government lovers.Gov intrusion at its worst., Lets test student loan recipients, medicare and SS , disability people. Seniors get gov help . Lets drug test everyone. Great Idea. Hypocrites!
Better yet set up a department of " drug test everybody that gets help form the Gov." Great use of tax money. moronic , and I am being kind.

My , admittedly anecdotal, experience is that most of you whiners are on the dole in some way. You just think you deserve it and others don't.

:VeryScared: I suppose none of you have considered the economic impact this is going to have on the dealers, gangs, organized crime and other slime of the same ilk. Economic times are getting so bad in this country that a guy can't even make a dishonest buck anymore... The next thing you know these poor folks will have to get real jobs instead of sitting at home waiting for the check to come in the mail! Of course all the good jobs are already taken by illegal aliens but I'll save that topic for another post...

Now watch the ACLU and lawyers line up and find some way to declare this law unconstitutional for any number of reasons. It will be very interesting to see how/if this law is enacted and how much money it saves the state of Florida. I also hope that other governors take note if the program is successful, Colorado sure could use some more money in the state coffers (or a smaller government, but I digress...) and I'd just as soon it didn't come out of taxpayer's pockets. I have to believe that it will save money and I hope it motivates a lot of people to take responsibility for themselves and to better themselves at the same time.

So are you saying that you are OK giving your tax dollars to people who are going out and spending it on Meth and Crack? Which in essense means you support giving your money to people to use for criminal activity. Interesting how liberals think........

Be consistent, if that too much to ask ? One and all. If you drug test every recipient of Gov. dole. I may support it but to single out one group of the dole seems hypocritical. Small Gov, my ass. You just want big gov to enforce your moral BS.

hmmmmm....it does seem that growing government is OK as long as that growth caters to the conservatives. I'm one of those progressives that thinks government intrusion into my personal life is not progress.......my words to government....butt out of my life.....

The feds could set up the Drug Testing Authority (DTA). They could work along side the TSA.
