This has gone way to far now. Read the article. So now families cannot be told they have the choice of prayer, Honor Guards cannot say God Bless. The VA is about to get thier bell rung on this one. They just opened a bag of worms.
It's basically the same information that was in the other thread about "censoring religious speech"...The Liberty Institute, (which does nothing but go after anything it perceives as anti-religious), seems to be on the warpath about wanting to cram "Jesus" down everyone's throat, whether they happen to be Christian or not...
Sorry, as an outrage-of-the-day, this one doesn't have much in the way of "legs"...

This LJ goes beyond the norm, I don't care much about tliberty institute, (they are like a ambulance chasing lawyer.). They actually have someone from the cemetary there that approves the ceremony. It cannot include the words God or Jesus. Regardless of the wishes of the family. It should be up to the family about that not some government employee. I did some further research and it is on alot of news outlets including the Veteran ones.

Has anyone coined or trademarked RDS (religion derangement syndrome) yet?
As far as I'm concerned, it is nothing but PC bullsh*t, and I will continue to mention the feared words 'God', 'Bless', 'prayer', and even 'Christmas' whenever I damn well feel like it!
So sue me!

It will be interesting to see if the complaints are actually true, as the linked article is just a pr release from the Liberty Institute with no documentation of the actual actions. I find it difficult to believe that the VA would be censoring private parties as opposed to entities acting on behalf of the government.
Edited to add:
If the VA is restricting the use of religious terms by private entities even on government property, then that is inappropriate and should be stopped.

Here is my personal take on it. I do not give a damn what the government thinks or bans etc. We will still do it. They want to come and try to arrest us, bring it on and be prepared for a fight. And for those that are offended by the word God or God bless America, or Merry Christmas, oh well, get over it. You can always leave/
Sorry, Navy, but WorldNutDaily is nuttier than Glenn Beck on bad day... They have NO credibility whatsoever...
If some people feel it necessary to foist their religious mutterings on others, not much one can do about it... If wished "Merry Christmas" I almost always respond with "Merry Christmas" back... It doesn't mean anything to me, one way or another. And I'll respond in-kind... What I still find asinine, is those who get all torqued-out if someone wishes them "Happy Holidays"... If I can get over "Merry Christmas", why can't they get over "Happy Holidays"? (Oh, I forgot ... With the righties, it's "My way or the highway...")

Like I said LJ, this is being reported on numerous sites including alot of the Veteran sites. I just picked out a few, I myself do not know the difference in alot of these sites.
This has been reported on numerous sites, but the wording is identical to the Liberty Institute press release. I will be interested when the facts come forward whether it actually occurred per the release, or if some overly zealous bureaucrat has overstepped.
