Tim Pawlenty, the former governor of Minnesota, dropped the Minnesota nice schtick on "Meet the Press" this Sunday, criticizing his state-mate, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), for having a "nonexistent" record as an office holder. Bachmann's campaign fired back at her fellow 2012 contender with an email later that day citing her efforts to end cap and trade as one bullet point on her record.
"I have fought the cap-and-trade agenda, rather than implement it, and I will work to end cap-and-trade as President of the United States," Bachmann wrote in the email, referring to the policy initiative developed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The problem? This doesn't exactly count as a resume builder, considering the fact that a federal cap and trade program is currently nonexistent.
Perhaps it was contained in that famous document, of that noble "Founding Father", William Howard Taft, known as the "Great Shopping List of 1912"....? I'm sure it was something that the founding fathers worked tirelessly to complete....for years....
If you fought it and were successful, it wouldn't exist. I don't see the problem. There were bills debated supporting cap and trade but they seemed to have been put on the backburner until the economy recovers. But I know people in Washington and even here on this board who would like to see new cap and trade legislation passed.

Except that's not what she said... She said she would "work to end cap-and-trade as President of the United States"... That implies something in the future against something that doesn't exist...
(Or is this where you try to convince us that William Howard Taft WAS one of the "founding fathers"?)

Just "more of the same" from a wingnut who gets her talking-points from the right-wing blogs... But just think...If she ever BECAME President, we KNOW she would end that darn policy... :VeryScared:
...grasping?
You can find much better stuff to nail Bachman on, this is nothing.
How about how she barely won her own congressional seat but thinks she can win the Presidency? Same deal with Pawlenty, polls around 50% in his own state when Minnesotans are asked if they want him as President. If even you own state cares little about your candidacy, why do you think the rest of the nation will?

Someone must be getting under your skin lately LJ, your outrages are becoming more and more ridiculous. Dig deeper, maybe you can find some dirt on Palin....haven't heard that irrelevant rant in a while. The Huffington Rag should have something new for you to regurgitate in a day or two.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
To me it seems almost like it was a Twitter-ready response that got shortened by her editors... it probably initially said something about working to fight support for the ongoing creation of cap and trade, or... well... something worded better than that, but as things got longer they began cutting it down.
Either way, I agree with LJ on this one... you mean what you say, and she promised to end cap and trade.
The real question is... if we don't elect her as President... does she still build the time machine? lol :pop
