It's also ok for someone who is black like Chris Rock to make racist jokes because of course, he can't be a racist.
It all depends on your political views or your race as to whether you can tell one of these jokes without beingt called out on it.
 Good point! Maher and his cronies joking about how they would enjoy raping Michele Bachman is at least on par with the racist National Geograhic joke.

You nailed it, Bill. Right on.
What ever happened to "Sticks and Stones"? THe PC garbage that has polluted our society has led too many people to embrace a 'victim' mentality, and I think it goes hand in hand with our departure from personal responsibility - It's ALWAYS someone else's fault.
This isn't about left and right. It's about right and wrong. Racist and sexist jokes are just wrong. Period. No, women in the 70s didn't appreciate you telling them how "fine" they looked. We tolerated it. The joke is also insulting to Mrs. Palin. It's just insulting to women-reducing us to parts. Even conservative women are tired of it. Grow up and admit that it's a mean and hateful joke not adult humor at all. Maybe it would fly on South Park with all the poop jokes.

Unless the guy saying it looked really fine himself, right? lol
I have noticed if some ugly creepy guy compliments a women on her looks, it is harrasment, and if it is a good looking dude, the women happily blush.
And the reverse. If some hot rocking babe is clearly checking me out, I like it, but if some gross looking women is in my personal space sucking up to me I am all grossed out.

And what is it with calling a guy a creep. It says nothing and is term used to only show your dislike/hatred of the person - it is the modern equivalent of the term n****** as it is used to describe any man a woman does not like.
My ancestry is Polish and Irish...I joke (and welcome others to, as well) that the luck I get from the Irish side is negated by the Polish side. The Leprechaun sitting on my shoulder is named Leprecock (a combination of Leprechaun and Pollock).
I'm also short and when I say that I've been chastised and its been suggested I refer to myself as vertically challenged instead of short. Bump that!! I'm a short Irish Pollock. Have fun with it.
My children have my sense of humor and it is interesting that no one has really taken them to task for not being politically correct.
The above being said...there are absolutely places I won't go with humor...but that doesn't mean I won't get the joke. Unless it is supposed to be mean-spirited, I take it for what it is and if I don't like it I just move on.
There is far too little laughter in this world...and any chance I get to enjoy a good belly laugh, I take.

Perhaps they were blushing with embarassment or anger? Guys always think they are hot and that their attentions are welcome. Women usually just want to get their work done without guys dropping lame come ons all day. Obviously you will fight for the right to find sexism and racism as a high form of humor, just don't get pissy when the rest of us dexline to join you in the mud and tolerate your bad behavior without comment.
Humor is very different for everybody. For example Jackass or Funniest Home Videos is very cruel humor to me. I don't laugh and feel those peoples' pain. But my own senior citizen mother finds it her favorite form of humor.
