Obama's contradicts himself in his speech today

Can anyone explain this logic to me? Obama said again today that everyone has to chip in and sacrifice to reduce our deficit. Then he said he is going to push for tax cuts for the middle class and to extend unemployment benefits. Don't those statements contradict each other? How is that chipping in and making sacrifices? Or is it just trying to buy votes again?

Once again the right wants to do all this deficit cutting on the backs of the middle clas.....well those backs will break, and soon . God forbid we should ask the upper class and the precious corporations to pull their own weight and sacrifice for this country that has given them so much. Nope, the right ain't going to do it......let the middle class support the wealthy and the corporations.

Sheesh Viking, the worker bees in this country can only do so much, you are bleeding the heart of this nation dry and still you want more from them.

Um Hellooooo. 50% aren't paying anything! Dont you read things? How is this, the worker bees doing so much? And my question, which of course you ignored, was, isn't saying that that EVERYONE needs to sacrifice and chip in a bit of a lie if he is just taking from 2% and giving it away to everyone else? Since when does EVERYONE = 2%?

New liberal math and logic. Taking from 2% and giving it to 98% according to Obama means that EVERYONE is chipping in.

Maybe it's because that 2% are the only ones who HAVEN'T already suffered in this economy?

According to conservatives, they never should have to suffer. The wealthy have been holding out the "jobs" carrot for decades.....telling conservatives that if they are taxed more they won't create new jobs. Of colurse they haven't created any new jobs in spite of their tax cut, but still the conservatives hope they will. Talk about drinking the :Koolaid: .

And if you were only making $15,000 per year do you think you'd be able to pay taxes on top of food, rent, heat, and electricity?

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Not to mention those who aren't making anything, and those on unemployment, though that can be taxable, and seniors living on Social Security. Though I don't doubt for a minute that the Republicans would like to find a way to make them pay taxes on their meager incomes. They would much rather bleed the poor than tax the wealthy.
