The Wall Street Journal has confirmed that illegal aliens who receive deferred action or parole from deportation can apply for work permits allowing them to compete with 22 million Americans looking for full-time work. That's 300,000 illegal aliens who could potentially receive work permits!
So, while Pres. Obama spent much of the week on a bus tour promoting a future plan to get unemployed Americans back to work, his Administration was working behind the scenes to help illegal aliens become eligible for jobs in the United States!

Well that's what's important in times like these- make sure the people who came here without permission and without regard for our laws- get the chance to compete for jobs against our citizens.

I really wish when you post something like this you would give us a link to the source. Where did the 300,000 number come from, are there actually 300,000 illegals that have received deferred action or parole from deportation and have actually gotten work permits?
In a surprise announcement, the Obama administration said it will review the deportation cases of 300,000 illegal immigrants and might allow many of them to stay in the U.S., a decision that angered immigration hard-liners and pleased Hispanic advocacy groups.
Under the plan, federal authorities will review individually all cases of immigrants currently in deportation proceedings. Those who haven't committed crimes and who aren't considered a threat to public safety will have a chance to stay in the U.S. and to later apply for a work permit.
That is all I could get from the WSJ site without having to subscribe.
"will review", "might allow", "will have a chance" "and later apply for a permit"
yeah.....that sounds like 300,000 illegals will soon be competing for jobs with US citizens. Not that they don't already.......how many construction firms are replacing citizens with illegals they can pay under the table because times are tough. I still believe the problem with illegals will only be solved by closing the borders and punishing those companies/people who hire them.
A new jobs program? Does this mean we can all agree that the 7 or 8 previous attempts have been failures and that it might be time to try a different approach this time?
I hope it isn't another SwindleUs type deal that has us paying $275K for every shovel ready job saved or created.......

Now it's $275,000? Just Wednesday, the lie being told was $250,000 per job. Why the sudden inflation in just 48 hours time? But then, I'm sure you already knew it was a lie and are just kidding, right Founding Father PrintSmith?
Let's see here - SwindleUs cost was on the order of $862 Billion and it saved or created about 3 million jobs according to the latest spin coming from the White House, right? You do the math and tell me what it cost us to save or create each of those jobs Kate.
The $862 billion stimulus bill created or saved 2.5 million to 3.6 million new jobs since it passed last year , the White House report said.
When I do the math, at 3 million saved or created jobs that comes to $287,333.33 per job saved or created. If the lower figure, 2.5 million jobs, is the more accurate figure, then each saved or created job rings out at $334,800.00 per job. Using the upper figure, it amounts to $239,444.44 per job. $275K per job seemed like a reasonable average to me.
You have conveniently forgotten the cost of materials and manufacturing. You must think that asphalt and concrete are free if you think that all the money went to just jobs.
