They (unlike you) understand that the government can't create squat. The government can only help to create a financial environment in which private enterprise has confidence enough in their future to create jobs.

You mean like the Republican plans to continue to give tax breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas? Or to continue to give tax breaks to select corporations, and to billionaire hedge fund managers? That kind of financial environment?

They have, but it is all dead on arrival since the Senate remains in Dem hands. (And no, more infrastructure spending of money we don't have isn't a jobs plan, we are still at 9% unemployment with less than 60% of adults employed after spending a trillion dollars.)

Even the White House is backing off from this speech since it looks like Obama isn't even going to release his entire plan for jobs.

Actually they have not passed any legislation focusing on creating jobs, yet they have had time to pass legislation regarding abortions, gay marriage, and other social issues that had no chance of passing in the Senate. The House has yet to pass any substantial legislation since the Republicans took over, other than increasing the deficit.

The Dems do the same thing. Wall Street gave more money to Obama than McCain.

Here is a rebuttal they should offer.

A national voucher program for all children, I'd even be ok if you said all children of those making less than 200k. All education funded by the govt. for any school you want. Thousands of private and charter schools would immediately pop up specializing in academic rigor, math, science, technology, engineering. Wouldn't help us immediately, but it would fix the horrible education system which virtually guarantees those of lower income are destined to stay that way.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

If Obama really did want to create jobs- he would do everything he could to get out of the way......

And you don't need to borrow another 300 Billion to do that!

They wouldn't dare pre-empt the Packers Season opener.

You are the only person I know who equates being ignored with a decision not to participate. It wasn't the Republicans who were screaming when Pelosi and Reid were busy ignoring the sound because they were too busy bribing congressional members to vote for the measure, it was the majority of the populace that was doing the screaming. That the Democrats ignored their collective wails of protestation was one of the major reasons so many of them weren't around when the next Congress convened, and one of the major reasons the Democrats are likely to lose control of the Senate in 2012 - there are 23 Senators from the party of Democrats who have yet to answer for their vote on that measure.

Especially not when it's a Packer v Saints game, arguably the two of the most popular teams nationwide. I'm betting both of those teams enjoy a more favorable rating than either of the political teams that will be in attendance watching Obama read his teleprompter.

Any bets there wasn't a single presidential adviser who was aware that the NFL season began on the date Boehner suggested for Obama's televised campaign speech before a joint session of Congress?

Obuma will try to dazzle with his rhetoric which most won't buy into any more nor do they want to hear the opposing side when there are better things to take their mind off the deeper doo doo we are in. What would you do, listen to the same old crap, although we should cuz Obuma is getting us even deeper in doo doo or watch the pregame and NFL game or other interesting things. Obuma is all blow and no go.
