Answer= zero

Are you claiming all those workers were laid off after the project was completed?

The Shaffers crossing project was required in order to allow better access to the new Staunton State Park that will open just down the road. That state park will generate some jobs but more importantly will (hopefully) bring more people and more $$$ generated into the 285 corridor.

GO PACK GO!

Wow, you know all those guys that built the Hoover Dam, and the Golden Gate bridge finally completed the projects they were working on too... I somehow doubt that all of them never worked another project and became welfare bums...

Unless, of course, you think that projects aren't supposed to come to an end...(in which case, then you reverse course and bitch because the project "never ends" and is "costing taxpayers money"...) Hypocrisy much?

Yeah, Schaffers Crossing is more of an improvement. It will certainly help things, especially with the traffic for the new park. But it's nothing like the Golden Gate Bridge or Red Rocks (I don't think Hoover Dam was WPA). Those are memorable structures which the community if not the country are proud of.

Was anything like that built with Obama's stimulus? I'll have to go find the old lists of stuff funded by it. I do recall it helped pay for a joke telling computer. I wonder if it's told any good jokes yet?

And by the way, while there isn't an offical Republican response to Obama's proposal tonight, Michele Bachmann is holding a press conference after it. I'm sure she'll be impressed!

Alot of the people from the Shaffers project were layed off. The engineers were reassigned.
And Staunton doen't need employees added as the state already has employees on the payroll for it.
So I think that is a wash.

So maybe take the 400 billiob and divide it up between the people NOT ON WELFARE, and see who builds their business's and who wastes it.

You're half right, but under the current administration's ideology you are over looking the intent of re-distribution of wealth. The idea of Socialism is to make every member of the population of the country equally poor, excepting the political elite of course. Under this ideology there are only two classes, the many and the few. The leadership is to have the best of the best and none of the commoners are going to say anything because the police and the military will be there to put down any rebellion before it gets out of hand.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Sounds like selective socialism.

And this is sooo much different than the way things currently are? The mega-rich getting richer and the rest of us getting poorer.

Back to the actual topic:

The White House said that the speech would be 44 minutes long without applause which would have left the Republicans with about 15 minutes to respond (if no applause) before the start of the NFL game. The speech actually lasted just over 30 minutes including applause. Mission accomplished.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
