Texas to discontinue fancy last-meal requests on death row

"Enough is enough," state Senator John Whitmire wrote on Thursday to prison officials, prompting the move. "It is extremely inappropriate to give a person sentenced to death such a privilege. It's a privilege which the perpetrator did not provide to their victim."

Oh really??? I think it is appropriate if you are taking their life no matter what they did. See, just more and more inhumanity. F the Senator.

Well, it's Texas.... They execute so many, I'm sure it puts a dent in their budget... That money could better be spent on forced HPV vaccine inoculations on teenage girls for Perry's buddies in the pharma business...

I have to agree with Texas senator.

These guys have killed one or more people and are about to be punished by being put to death.

Why should they get special treatment at the end? Anything you want to eat now, what's next? A hooker in cell an hour before execution?

They still get a last meal. They just have to eat whatever everybody else eats.

I've never understood the special last meal thing. I agree with the Senator.

I do not agree. I think the last meal is appropriate.

I can't imagine that you could eat or enjoy the last meal.

Maybe if everyone is so into an eye for an eye..... We could waterboard them! It is not torture if you do something bad enough, right?

Torture should only be used in cases where they tortured their victim, and then only in the same way.

It's Eye for an Eye, not Arm for an Eye.

We've already kept them in a tiny cell, isolated from other prisoners, for years while the appeal process works its way out...

These TEXAS criminals should have been served a cheeseburger and then fried.

While Jenny and Elizabeth were living the last few hours of their lives, Peter Cantu, Efrain Perez, Derrick Sean O'Brien, Joe Medellin and Joe's 14 year old brother were initiating a new member, Raul Villareal, into their gang, known as the Black and Whites. Raul was an acquaintance of Efrain and was not known to the other gang members. They had spent the evening drinking beer and then "jumping in" Raul. This means that the new member was required to fight every member of the gang until he passed out and then he would be accepted as a member. Testimony showed that Raul lasted through three of the members before briefly losing consciousness.

By the way, the link is graphic and seems to appall people. The same people who think death penalty is torture. Read about how these Mexican criminals raped and torture two young Houston girls who were just walking home.

THE TEXT CONTAINED ON THIS LINKED SITE IS GRAPHIC AND CONTAINS THE DETAILS OF HOW MEXICANS GANG MEMBERS TORTURED AND RAPED OF TWO YOUNG HOUSTON GIRLS WALKING HOME.

If Texas spent a dime on electricity or dollar on a fancy meal...it was too much for this scum.
