No Arch, the Larger donations etc will most likely dry up. I mean I have alot of clients that give ridiculous ammounts and their reasoning is, "I'd rather give it to ________ than to see the governement
get their hands on it."
However now they will just hide it elseswhere or keep it for security.
people will still give to the church because they are buying the stairway to heaven

It was all over the radio and the commentary was even discussed on msnbc.
I didn't listen to the speech...nor have I read it.....guess I need to go find out what all the outrage is about. I try to avoid the campaign speeches, which is what every politicians speech is right now, till closer to the election. We all know they will change their minds 20 times between now and then.

Well there ya go.
You guys argue all the time that the government shouldn't help poor people because it should be done through private charity and then you tell us people won't even give to charity unless they're bribed by the government to do so.
Guess the poor ought to fall on their swords now with that kind of logic between them and being left to starve on the streets.
I didn't miss it. I guess they are counting on little old ladies on Social Security kicking in more to make up for the loss of the donations of the rich.
Just as they are out there arguing the poor ought to be doing more about paying higher taxes so we can cut the taxes on the rich even more.
The ever wasteful government provides a perfect disincentive effect. When people can choose where their donations go, there is better efficiency (normally) and more satisfaction.

I'm sure it will be 100% efficient when the Republicans succeed in completely cutting off all social safety nets AND refusing to make any charitable donations if they don't get a kickback from Uncle Sam for doing so.
