It is your opinion that Republicans don't favor social spending, and it is a mistaken opinion. Republicans favor individual social spending, in fact they encourage it. They are not predisposed to federal social spending, but that has more to do with the proper role of the federal government than it does with support for social spending. That is the reason that the Republican party supports the tax deduction for charitable contributions. It recognizes that the money that has been donated has not been personally consumed and should therefore not be subjected to taxation as if it were money that the individual or company derived individual benefit from.

Let's see, the Republicans have been lobbying for years in about fifty different ways to eliminate social spending since the Roosevelt adminstration. And the second part of my statement, as I've repeatedly explained, was referrring only to something someone right here on this forum had said. But you're not going to be happy unless I produce a specific bill "proving" these facts?

Actually social spending has increased whether the Republicans or Democrats are in control, it is just the increase in level of spending.
