I know, I know... I'm being paranoid, but if someone was paying Cain to be in this race, and provide the Republicans with their token-candidate... and suddenly it wasn't so much of a joke anymore... maybe you let slip a little something, just to keep him in line, remind him who is in charge...
Honestly, I wouldn't put a plant in without enough evidence to bury him if he got a little big for his britches!

Interesting that it never came up for FDR or Kennedy either, isn't it? Interesting as well that even with such allegations Clinton was able to secure the nomination and the presidency.Conservation Voice wrote: Interesting that not a single allegation like that came up when Obama was running or became president.
There is nothing new with people in positions of power having a large appetite for personal indulgences chickaree. FDR died in the arms of his mistress, JFK had numerous mistresses and is rumored to have had sex with one of them while Jackie was upstairs in the residence portion of the White House, Eisenhower was rumored to have had a long term affair with his aide, RFK, Teddy Kennedy, Newt, and we won't even get started on the number of highly paid professional athletes (including our own beloved John Elway) or entertainment stars. On a local level we have the rumors surrounding Ritter, the actions of Romer while governor and of course Gary Hart and Monkey Business. What has changed is our tolerance for such behavior and our willingness to consider it when contemplating the qualifications of a prospective candidate for high office. The behavior isn't going to go away, statistics show us that infidelity occurs in a fair number, perhaps even the majority, of marriages and relationships and is the number one reason for divorces and breakups.chickaree wrote: I don't know what to think of politicians and there seeming inability to keep it zipped. Is it something we need to learn to tolerate or is it indicative of the poor quality of candidates our system throws up?

I thought this too. I have yet to see anything to leads to this being anything racial.

The Viking wrote: OK, sorry but Cain flat out lied! First he said he had no memory of anything that happened. Then he said he couldn't defend against an anonymus person as he had no idea who it was or the incident. Now he remembers her approximate age, her height, the formal allegation, what she looked like and that she was a writer and EXACTLY what happened and when! Which is it? He sure remembered an awful lot in just a few hours. And he flat out said he had NO IDEA if there was a pay off or how much. Now he remembers he was told about a payoff and that it was 2 or 3 months salary. He is sounding like a total politician now! I wonder how much more is going to come out now?

Washington Insider: Obama Member of Chicago Gay Man’s Club

The Wayne Madsen Report (WMR) is a mainly subscription news site ($7/month for “individual reader” subscribers) that claims to provide news ”from deep inside the Washington beltway.” Its editor is Wayne Madsen, a former US Navy officer, Washington, DC-based investigative journalist, author and syndicated columnist, with an impressive c.v.
On May 24, 2010, WMR had a blockbuster report for subscribers only, which claims that Obama is a long-time member of a gay man’s club in Chicago, of which his Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is also a member. I first saw this story 3 days ago on Rense.com in an article titled “Madsen Is Vindicating Larry Sinclair.” [Note: Sinclair is a gay man who claims he had 2 sexual encounters with Obama in Chicago.] The article had a short excerpt from the WMR. I did not post it here on Fellowship at the time because I wanted to think about it.

I beg your pardon, but there was quite a bit circulating about Obama. I grabbed this quickly but it was also circulating during the primaries back when.
