Bearmtns posts are funny as hell! Keep up the good writing and humor Bear. Its more entertaining than reading the usual cranky old snarky negative posts, which are on ignore anyway.

Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.

Oh...wait... One was an opinion piece from a liberal-hating right-wing ideologue... and mine was scientific research...
How silly of me to compare the two.... :VeryScared:
 Point made. I have never called anyone an idealogue here. And that is one of your less mean-spirited insults. Usually you are much more mean and your hatred for most Republican politicians is legend,...wait for it,..ary.
Fell right into my trap.
But there are a few righties who are pretty mean too.

You know, that might explain why there is so much antagonism towards liberal thinkers on this forum, because that definition is just wrong. Try this one:
(Liberalism) is the belief in the importance of liberty and equal rights. Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but generally liberals support ideas such as constitutionalism, liberal democracy, free and fair elections, human rights, capitalism, and freedom of religion.
Surprised? Thought you might be. Most conservatives these days don't seem to have a clue what liberals actually believe, they just attribute anything negative they can think of to them.

Why, yes... Government nudging the economy in the right direction to improve the middle-class; provide the poor, elderly and unemployed with a social safety-net and trying to keep the 1% from screwing the 99%... If that's "leftism", sign me up.
And I like AV's version even better:

The classic definition of Liberalism is classic, in like 19th century. The modern Democrat party supports enviromental legislation like the wetlands case currently being decided bfore the Supremes this week. Supporting the rights of ducks over the personal property of people. Fining people 10's of thousands a day if they don't modfiy their land to the goverment's will. Doesn't sound like supporting liberty to me.

You mean like "eminent domain" laws that the plutocrat/developers use to get local governments to turn over private land to them for shopping centers and pipeline right-of-ways?... Like THAT kind of "liberty"?
