It would have been really awesome if Obama had worn a suit made of food stamps.

Spanking Congress....

President Obama wrote: You need to fund these projects. Take the money we’re no longer spending at war, use half of it to pay down our debt, and use the rest to do some nation-building right here at home.

Yet he seems to be oblivious as to how NEW revenue is created in the first place. It's great political pandering to his base to say how he wants to spend money, but has no idea how to prime the Golden Goose.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

So I'm confused. Insider trading is illegal, right? So why would he say a law needs to be passed outlawing insider trading by Congress?

underwhelmed by the education section.

Is education an education imperative?

Nope - it's simply something that markets use to differentiate attractive from unattractive labor.

If everyone was educated - the marketplace would find a different way to differentiate prospective labor.

Loved the way he put colleges on notice --- tuition is going up almost entirely due to declines in public (primarily state) support. Why doesn't the federal government reduce block grants to states that reduce their support of higher education?

I think that Congress has exempted themselves.

I couldn't see over the stump to watch Barry's gums flap. More hot wind and nothing more than a campaign speech paid for by US citizens.

I have to wonder, are we collectively smart enough as citizens to see Mr. Obama on his way in November? Movements (there's an appropriate term if I ever used one...) like OWS tell me that the US needs another four years of tax, spend, and an aggressive program that finally accomplishes wealth distribution (in the circles I travel in that's called Socialism).

The notion that every citizen is entitled to a "free" education, health care, housing, transportation, and a professional career, must be provided by the 'Gubment as an entitlement is ludicrous in my opinion. Citizens of the US of A have the right to the wealth they earn through hard work, not what the 'Gubment hands out as entitlements.

WE NEED MORE TAX PAYERS, NOT MORE PEOPLE ON UNEMPLOYMENT AND SLACKERS SUCKING CASH OUT OF THE 'GUBMENT THROUGH WELFARE AND UNEMPLOYMENT!!!

BARRY in 2012!!! Maybe the Aztec calendar is right after all?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Gov. Mitch was kinda creepy afterward.

The best part was when the camera was on McCain and it looked like he was taking a dump in his Depends.

You just have to love this man's (lack of) logic. We should borrow more money, that we really don't need to borrow now that we're no longer fighting a war, and use half of it to pay down the debt we incurred by borrowing money in the first place. Does he really believe we're not intelligent enough to understand that paying off one debt by taking out new debt doesn't do anything to lower the amount of debt you are in?

I didn't watch the SOTU last night, just monitored my twitter feed. It was a non-stop blast of snide remarks. Much more enjoyable alternative to the standing ovations.

The SOTU would be more fun if they behaved like Parliament with bronx cheers etc. allowed.
