Or maybe Obama is on TV so often, the SOTU isn't a special occasion and roughly the same speech he gives when he hands out checks to floundering green energy companies?

Or maybe the airwaves are so filthy with political debates and other DC crap lately that Joe Public is sick of hearing from any of them?

Isn't that a given? I am so happy Colorado isn't an early primary state like New Hampshire, wall-to-wall political ads starting in June of 2011. But we are a battleground state so the ads will be coming hard and heavy quickly.

For a president who (supposedly) comes from "the land of Lincoln" - he should be ashamed at such a lie.

No one was fooled this time by his SOTU address. Obama didn't pull any punches this time. He openly laid out his socialistic distribution of wealth political ideology. He openly set the sate for class envy. And he openly lied over and over in this speech. (details <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href=" 285bound.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17646 " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17646<!-- l --> ).

No one was fooled this time by Obama. Even the Obama favored media had to admit, in article after article that this hour and fifteen minutes rant was overflowing with misrepresentations and outright lies. USA Today, Reuters, AP, Washington Post (I could go on) all ran fact check articles where the "facts" didn't check. Even most of the lefty's on 285 Bound hasn't been able to chime in on these SOTU threads, because there is no way to defend these lies. The truth wills out.

If this was Obama kick off for his 2012 campaign, he couldn't have picked a worst way to do it, and it's downhill from here. His hope and change as turned to no change and hope that no body notices.

The morning after the State of the Union Address:

How it works......... IN THE USA

John Smith, an American, started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6 am ..

While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN) filled it with GAS (from Saudi Arabia) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.

At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his DELL Computer (made in MALAYSIA), John decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL), poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA.

AND NOW HE'S HOPING HE CAN GET HELP FROM A PRESIDENT MADE IN KENYA!

It's funny...but hard to laugh at because it's essentially true. :faint:

What does what I have to say have to do with prejudice? Perhaps you are suggesting a low IQ. I've noticed that people who call others names or call them stupid are generally covering up insecurities. Would that be you too? :)

I was wondering if you could summarize the science and statistics behind that study and explain to us in your own words why you believe that article has any merit? Because other studies attribute racism to groups in general, not conservative or liberal intelligence specifically... "Some capacity for favoritism of one's own group over others appears to be a natural human tendency. In many studies, people attribute more positive traits to their own group than to other groups. This has been demonstrated cross culturally."[/i] It seems that stereotyping plays a more important role in racism then intelligence... "Considering his findings, Petty notes that his study is not the first to show that activating stereotypes affects those who hold them." For a matter of fact, if you were to try and tag any ideology to racism, studies have shown that racism has more of a tendency to rear it's ugly head among a collectivist ideology... "Racism: a concept created and propagated by collectivists. So, what is ‘simple racism’? That rather depends upon who you ask. Roentsch (1985b) offers a useful definition: “Let there be no misunderstanding. ... a racist is anyone who accepts the existence of racial collectives”, i.e. assigns attributes to an individual purely on the basis
of their membership of a racial group; usually of a negative kind in the way that racism is commonly meant."

I don't think you said enough. I would like to know how do you "square" the article you linked to and these various papers that seem to indicate that racism is not attached to any particular level of intelligence but more tied to a particular group dynamics and the ability to stereotype?

Obama's 'Let's Stay Together' Leads to 490-Percent Sales Bump for Al Green

Calling all musicians! Here is a great, outside-the-box sales technique: Get President Barack Obama to slip in a couple lines of your song during one of his speeches.

Last week, Obama delivered several lines from Al Green's classic 'Let's Stay Together' at a fundraising event in Harlem, and the song has now enjoyed a 490 percent sales increase after the video of the President/crooner went viral. According to Nielsen Soundscan (via Billboard), Green's 1972 classic sold 16,000 digital downloads in the week ending January 22. If only singing about boosting the economy or bettering public education had the same way of "making it rain."
