Lies, lies, lies and more lies - The SOTU address

Fair... fair... fair... No... lies... lies... lies...

Or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules. [...] A return to the American values of fair play and shared responsibility will help us protect our people and our economy. [...] Tax reform should follow the Buffett rule: If you make more than $1 million a year, you should not pay less than 30 percent in taxes.

The average tax rate for returns with a positive liability went from 12.24 percent in 2008 to 11.06 percent in 2009. If he wants to make it fair, why is he suggesting millionaires pay more than everyone else? Why not come up with a flat tax rate, or an average, that's the same for everyone. That would be a very good example of everyone playing by the same set of rules. His proposal is a lie, it has nothing to do with fairness. It's class envy and nothing more. It's a socialistic redistribution of wealth.

We have subsidized oil companies for a century. That’s long enough. It’s time to end the taxpayer giveaways to an industry that’s rarely been more profitable

This is a lie (and a misuse of the word "subsidy"). A subsidy is money given by a government to help support a business or person the market does not support. A subsidy is tax negative or neutral. Oil companies are tax positive. And the tax breaks given the oil companies are the same given to many businesses. They are not oil company specific.

Pass clean energy tax credits and create these jobs. We can also spur energy innovation with new incentives.

Another lie. Obama wants everyone to "play by the same set of rules", yet he wants to end tax breaks to viable energy producing companies (tax positive) and transfer that taxpayers money to green energy companies who have proven even with stimulas money that they cannot compete or manage to stay in business. President Obama has already had his chance to prove his green energy policy and he has failed miserably "CBS News counted 12 clean energy companies that are having trouble after collectively being approved for more than $6.5 billion in federal assistance. Five have filed for bankruptcy: The junk bond-rated Beacon, Evergreen Solar, SpectraWatt, AES' subsidiary Eastern Energy and Solyndra."

President Obama LOST jobs with these "new incentives" and these unproductive green companies. How many more chances does he want? How many more times is he going to lie about his green energy initiatives?

FACT CHECK: Obama pushes plans that flopped before.

President Barack Obama laid out an array of plans in his State of the Union speech as if his hands weren't so tied by political realities. There can be little more than wishful thinking behind his call to end oil industry subsidies - something he could not get through a Democratic Congress, much less today's divided Congress, much less in this election year.

And there was more recycling, in an even more forbidding climate than when the ideas were new: He pushed for an immigration overhaul that he couldn't get past Democrats, permanent college tuition tax credits that he asked for a year ago, and familiar discouragements for companies that move overseas.

(Read the whole fact check at the USA Today link below)

USA Today points out the lies. And the facts just don't check out. More lies...

"If you're an American manufacturer, you should get a bigger tax cut. If you're a high-tech manufacturer, we should double the tax deduction you get for making products here."

Reality check: Generally, economists say tax breaks to encourage specific investment decisions are a bad idea, and rarely effective. Business investment plunged early in the last decade despite tax breaks to prop up software and technology investment after the technology bust of 2000, and investment in software and related equipment lags behind 1990s levels, adjusted for inflation, according to Barclays Capital. Generally, the market would be better off if government reduced corporate tax rates and offered fewer, rather than more deductions, Moody's Analytics Chief Economist Mark Zandi said.

... and eleven more lies, lies, lies...

We examine 11 claims by President Obama that were misleading or lacking context.

“We will not go back to an economy weakened by outsourcing, bad debt, and phony financial profits. … It’s time to apply the same rules from top to bottom: No bailouts, no handouts and no copouts.”[/i]

These are clearly lines crafted by political operatives. Few economists would blame “outsourcing” for the economic crisis; it is also unclear how Obama has eliminated outsourcing during his presidency. “Bad debts” presumably would refer to irresponsible mortgage loans. “Phony financial profits” is also a bit puzzling. Perhaps it was not supposed to make sense.

(Read them all at the Washington Post link below)

And even in the same speech... he lies and contradicts himself...

He railed against a system that isn’t fair to the “millions of Americans who work hard and play by the rules every day,” positioning himself against special treatment for a favored few: “No bailouts, no handouts, and no copouts,” he said.

And then in the same speech.

On the day I took office, our auto industry was on the verge of collapse. Some even said we should let it die. With a million jobs at stake, I refused to let that happen. In exchange for help, we demanded responsibility.

This time around President Obama is NOT fooling anyone... except for his leftist scyophants who will follow him blindly no matter how many times he lies, no matter how far he takes this country away from it's constitutional roots. When the Washington Post fact checks his ass and comes up with eleven lies, the rest of the liberal media can't be far behind. So.. how many more lies are we suppose to take from this administration? How many more months or years do we have to keep hoping that this administration will effect any real change?

I'm not holding my breath.

I got this today from Tancredo

As if it weren't enough that President Obama has ordered ICE to virtually stop deporting illegal aliens, yesterday he called for them to get citizenship! That's right, citizenship! No longer is amnesty enough for those who broke our laws--Obama wants to make them US citizens!

Here is what he said in the State of the Union last night: "And let's also remember that hundreds of thousands of talented, hard-working students in this country face another challenge: the fact that they aren't yet American citizens. Many were brought here as small children, are American through and through, yet they live every day with the threat of deportation."

As for "live every day with the threat of deportation," is he joking? Illegals are more likely to get amnesty than deported.

By executive order Obama has granted all kinds of little amnesties. He's even set up a 24/7 free hot line for illegals (that would be free to them - we pay for it). If arrested all they need to do is call the hotline - translation services provided - and an expert will look into their case and advise them of their rights!

I wonder what number I call if I get arrested for refusing a TSA pat down?

The President added "We should be working on comprehensive immigration reform right now." That's good old fashioned blanket amnesty and that's why the cameras zoomed in on none other than John McCain, the king of amnesty himself, when the President said that.

Friend, the battle over a blanket amnesty for millions of illegals is BACK! It's all about reelection. Obama is determined to keep the radical Hispanic lobby enthused over his Presidency and there is only one way to do that: massive amnesty. And while he's at it why not go right for citizenship? With the stroke of a pen he'll create a whole army of new voters for himself.

Earlier this month the White House promoted Cecelia Munoz to director of the White House Domestic Policy Council. This appointment was the shot over our bow!

Before joining the Obama White House, Cecelia Munoz was the Senior Vice President of the National Council of La Raza, arguably the most extreme and racist Hispanic pressure group in the country! She is an unapologetic advocate for amnesty for illegal aliens, who was brought into the White House in 2009 in a mostly technical and bureaucratic position.

But now she has moved into a job that directly impacts and directs domestic policy issues ... including immigration and border security!

If there was ever a signal from Barack Obama that as he fights for re-election he is going to do whatever the radical Hispanic lobby wants, this is it!

We have faced odds like this before. We have fought the White House, La Raza, and the Chamber of Commerce before. And we have won before, because most law-abiding Americans want our borders secured, our laws against illegal immigration enforced, and no amnesty!

I waiting for all those millionaire Hollywood stars, multi-millionaire sports figures, the mega-hit music industry entertainers, Las Vegas moguls and the 3.1 millionaires to come out in support of President Obama's suggested new 30% tax on their incomes. We should be seeing a avalanche of congratulations and high-fives in 5,4,3,2,1... crickets!

(I did a Goggle search, I can't find any of these people rallying around Obama about this proposed tax hike)

Maybe it's because our country stands at a crossroad. We can either vote to retain a Marx-lite who is driving this country into a fail European social democratic model, or we can vote in a conservative or a conservative-lite so we can retain the status quo long enough to flush the whole corrupt Political Class out of Washington and get back to a cleansed Democratic Republic model, free of the criminal corporate cronyism and the power and money professional politicians.

But we are not going to save anything with people like you who's moral compass has broke and you see a moral relativism... "they all do it, nothing new, move on." Sorry... I still have morals, I still care, I still believe in this country, our constitution and the vision of our founding leaders. If you've given up, fine, then leave the debate, you're just wasting bits and bytes on the server.

Our founding ancestors would be shooting by now.

In some ways, this is true. If I drive without insurance & a valid driver license, I get fined and face jail time, illegals not as likely.
