This is a question for religious bigots which I don't think you are. I don't care what religion the president is, but I do get tired of the bigotted hypocrisy spewed on this board by someone who never gets challenged by those on the left. I'd expect you to defend but in this case you just missed the point. (maybe on purpose).archer wrote: Why would it matter to anyone what the president's religious beliefs are? That is a personal issue. It only becomes a concern if those PERSONAL beliefs dictate how a president governs the nation and sets policy. I have not seen Obama do that...Santorum has indicated that he would use his religious beliefs to set policy. We don't know about Romney, he changes his mind daily.
Why a dumb OP...I haven't seen any leftist say a president shouldn't be a Christian, only that they shouldn't impose their religion on the nation and it's citizens. That goes for ANY religion.
If nobody stands up to a bigot unless it has to do with skin color only, is that really a good thing?

Not at all. Even secular humanists who view the bible as a dated work of fiction believe in the concept that when one man dies, so dies a part of all of us, and that there is honor in helping those less unfortunate.PrintSmith wrote:
But isn't this precisely what is being done? Isn't it religious call to be your brother's keeper that lies at the root of the government levying taxes and appropriating money to disburse for the purposes of individual welfare? Isn't it the biblical verses that say from those to whom much has been given, much is demanded that form the foundation of the "progressive" tax scheme? Isn't all of this an example of those who have been elected relying on their PERSONAL beliefs to dictate the union's policies and how it will be governed?archer wrote: Why would it matter to anyone what the president's religious beliefs are?
