You are a joke.
I'll tell you what jerk-wad (and you started this)... if I can prove to you that I am a programmer, working from home, making good money... you promise to put up a thread with the title "I apologize to The Liberals GOP Twin" and post an apology to me, with no snark, no "out," a plain and simple apology?
And the only people that can afford to work for minimum wage are in high school right now.
I can understand that, and I agree. Usually the free market adjusts and wages offered rise.
What I don't understand is not showing up for interviews or training.
If I don't like the pay offered I tell them up front or negotiate, and don't go thru the application process. I do hate it when job listings don't show the pay. Its BS.
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.

Who can't afford to work for minimum wage if they are out of work and haven't been able to find work? You mean not making anything is better than making something? Your logic is faulty.
If it cost you an hours pay to buy gas to get to work, and and hours pay to get home- A 4 hour/day part time job barely pays for your coffee in the break room.
I don't work for nothing and I don't expect my friends and nieghbors to either

Hopefully this will all adjust over time when the economy recovers.
Vote for Obama in November and give him four more years. He'll turn it around and you'll have a job. I promise.
Hey twinny , when was the last time you worked?1962? have ever done anything constructive except troll and spam?
Losers love to yap, You spend 23hors a day harassing people and you have the balls to comment on people that want to work.
What a pathetic piece of garbage! Go away! Or crybaby to the mods like you always do.

Yep... 4 hours are better than no hours until something better comes along. I've done it. I'm a programmer, the IT market in Denver has moved to the Springs and Boulder/Longmont... I've had off and on spotty contract work for the last 5 years... and I took retail jobs to help hold me over between contracts. Luckily last July I found a niche in a small firm out of the tech center, and it's been going good for me since then. And I'm just getting caught up with some bills that had to be put on "hold." But at least I fed and clothed myself, and did what I had to, to get over the dry spells.
And let me give you a little insight. There are not as many retail and minimum wage jobs available to the high school age kids or under 21 age group. A lot of those retail jobs have been taken up by people who have been in my situation. The last retail job I worked at before landing this programming position, 40 percent of the staff was out of work professionals... most of the rest of the staff were long-term retail employees. We only had about 15 percent of the workers who were under 21.
If you're in the position to ride out an unemployment period, even long term, then fine. If your not being a burden on someone or to yourself, and you're actively looking for employment, then that's understandable. But I see nothing wrong with taking a minimum wage job rather than sitting at home on ones butt collecting unemployment. I didn't take any unemployment for those 5 years. I did what I needed to do to keep afloat, my ego was in control, and I personally feel real good about how I handled it.

+1. I heard some farmers whining about how they couldn't find workers but then they say their wages and they are very low for that tough work. Too many employers got used to abusing illegal immigrants and got used to bidding down wages for new hires.

I never said that... did I. I said I supplemented my income with some writing projects. No... I'm not a novelist. I have a number of published works, but they are not novels.

And I'm off to Europe for two weeks starting this coming Sunday evening. Won't be bothering you folks much (although I may have internet access from one of the places I'm staying at... we are staying mainly in rural locations). I'll try to check in to make sure you are keeping your nose clean.
