And what? Mail it to him. He wimped out, I was offering him access to my own computer, he wouldn't even have to get off his lazy ass. He lost.

I gave you my criteria, you punked out big time, all bluster and no substance.
I should have figured.

How bout it.. I see it all the time- and they are free loaders: they drive on the roads, but don't want to pay for them and they are horrified that we might make emergency room free loaders buy insurance so we all don't have to pay thier bills..Talk about socialised healthcare, thats what we got now.

I'm not going to argue with you're alcohol induced silliness, nor give JCM any more opportunity to embarrass himself, I offered him a secure and private way to examine my personal documents, the means to prove my prowess as a programmer of over 30 years, access to the software I have developed for my company (and in turn the name of my company, since it is prominently displayed on the numerous menus of the software, which in turn he could have used that information to call my employer and inquire if they have an employee that works from home in Conifer), I offered a scan with of my 1099 (minus my name and address)... and if he was smart enough, a way to actually discover more information about me than those items if he was computer savvy enough.

The method I proposed would be the same as JMC sitting next to me in my home office, examining my personal information and being shown that the claims I have made about my career(s), including information about my side business as a published (and produced) playwright (ha... I've never revealed that information publicly on 285 Bound before... there's a little bone for you JCM) were honest and truthful.

I offered JCM to participate in a web based conference, between his computer an mine. Web based conferencing is used hundred of times a day in business. The company I work for (based out of the Denver Tech Center) is typical of many companies now a days. They have employees who "virtually" participate in the day to day activities, working from their home offices, and occasionally visiting the physical office for meetings and other business activities that actually require the physical presence of the employees. My project lead is in Greely, we have the CEO in Castle Rock and two of our marketing people share their time between their home offices in Ca. and Denver. But he refused to accept my very generous offer. I felt that holding a web based conference would be the best way to ensure JCM's privacy and mine (well... on my side, only some privacy since I was willing to reveal enough information to fulfill the "bet").

But JCM realizes that my offer would put to bed and settle my claims and he would have to admit that he was wrong. JCM couldn't have that, it appears that he is not the sort of man who can stand to be honestly wrong... which in this case he is.

Too bad... having him poking around my computer, he probably would have discovered we have something fun in common, we may have been able to actually agree on something for once. The bottom line is simple. Public consensus, the folk who are reading this thread, have enough sense to see what transpired here, and they can make a decision as to my honestly in my offer. The court of public opinion and all that.

Let me get this straight I video with you and see your "office"?
No proof but your video cam.
I would be happy to apologize, if you prove 2 things (said before) prove you get no gov. support and get paid for "programming'.
seeing your "office" is BS. So a blacked out 1099, try a tax return loser
I haven't had a real job in 8 years but I have an "office" with computers.
Don't care who you are or have any interest in seeing your ugly mug.
PS: I am 59 also and do live off all my hard labor and smarts.Cept i don't need to work anymore.

Jerkwad. Your reading comprehension stinks. I didn't say nothing about a video. I said you would be logged onto my computer from YOUR computer. You would be able to navigate on my desktop (desktop - that's the screen idiot), you would be able to examine the work I do since you would have access to my computer. Where in the hell did I mention a "video cam."

Evidently you don't know crap about computers or the concept of sharing desktops (that's using your computer to attach to my computer for the technologically impaired - meaning YOU). You would not be viewing my "office" the physical room I work in. Are you actually that dumb?

You made a bet, I gave you the most open option to prove the point without revealing my actually identity or my physical location. Business people use web based conferencing every day, all around the world, to hold virtual meetings.

You're a luddite asshole who doesn't even understand simple concepts that any 14 year old grasps.

I win... you made the bet, I offered total access to my workstation, to examine my work, the software programs I'm working on, the business applications I have designed, the name of my employer and my 1099. You were offered everything you asked for and you pissed out of the deal... you refused. Go play in a sandbox with the rest of the 3rd graders. Thanks goodness the other users of 285 Bound are not so dense, they will realize that you had the opportunity to carry out the bet and blew it.

ok, pm me and we will take this to it's logical solution, can't wait. loser

I told you in my original proposal that I'm leaving for Europe this weekend and I don't have time to set up the web based conference right now. We'll get back to this in a couple of weeks when I return. That gives you a couple of weeks to caw and crow and flap your yap before I put you in your place.

If it cost you an hours pay to buy gas to get to work, and and hours pay to get home- A 4 hour/day part time job barely pays for your coffee in the break room.

I don't work for nothing and I don't expect my friends and nieghbors to either

World is ending - I'm agreeing with VL again.

Joe - I haven't read the whole thread, so this may have been answered for you - a lot of people who do that are scamming. They are on unemployment, and all that is required is that they schedule the interview, not actually show up. Now, these are NOT common, but I can see this happening a lot to people who are wanting employees to drive that hour to work for only 4-5 hours, for that minimum wage. So many people refuse to put their wage in the ads, and they don't reveal it until the interview - well, thanks for wasting my time.

BTW 4 hours of work doesn't add up to 4 hours of work, if you add the expense of getting to and doing the job. Gas, time to drive there, often this end up that you make less than $20 after costs and taxes. That's less that $5 an hour. This ain't 1985.

I can't even understand why JCM even questioned my employment status? Is this normal behavior for him? What is normal for him?

Views. I'm confused (what's new). Does he have something to do with the ownership of this forum? Do you mean views as in "traffic" ergo, traffic indicates hits to the website, that equals stats that he/she/JCM can impress current and potential advertisers? If that's what you are saying, then that amounts to a rather dishonest practice which is frowned on in the internet world.
