Ha Ha, got a call from the Democratic Coalition for small business.
A recorded message "Small business owner, we hear you, and President Obama has a plan to help you to stimulate and grow your business. Blah, blah, blah, we have currently helped 1000's of small business just like you in the past 3 years to grow and prosper,,, CLICK
couldn't take anymore, cause I know they were gonna need some of my small business capital to help me.
“Look, I’m at the start of my administration. One nice thing about the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. You know, I’ve got four years. And, you know, a year from now I think people are going to see that we’re starting to make some progress,” Obama said. “But there’s still going to be some pain out there. If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., countered that the cost of the stimulus plan is less important than the quality of the recovery it creates. "It's not just about how big the package is," Pelosi said. "It's about how fast jobs are created and how those initiatives that were added in the spending will contribute to long-term stabilization of our economy."
"To finally spark the creation of a clean-energy economy, we will double the production of alternative energy in the next three years. We will modernize more than 75 percent of federal buildings and improve the energy efficiency of 2 million American homes, saving consumers and taxpayers billions on our energy bills." (01-08-2009)
By the end of 2010, Barack Obama promised unemployment would drop to 7.25 percent. Obama also warned that without the stimulus America was in danger of seeing unemployment rise as high as 8.8 percent.
"Today I am pledging to cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office." (Feb. 23, 2009)
Fond memories, slowing fading fast... brought to you by the Obama Administration.
The Liberals GOP Twin wrote: So... now that everyone has had most of a day to absorb this set back... what can be done to turn this around. What works? What doesn't work?
At least you are willing to talk about solutions. The President, Congress, and the Senate have all decided winning re-election is more important than working out a compromise solution before the election.
Both sides accusing the others for why fewer Americans are employed than when "W" was president, but nothing is actually getting done. No regulations to make it easier to open businesses, no tax holidays to increase consumption, etc.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
WASHINGTON — The bleak jobs report on Friday predictably had heads snapping toward the White House, looking to President Obama to do something. Yet his proposed remedies only underscore how much the president, just five months before he faces voters, is at the mercy of actors in Europe, China and Congress whose political interests often conflict with his own.
After a dismal jobs report for May, investors will have to wait awhile to figure out how much the U.S. is slowing.
Whether the economy continues to grow modestly, however, is an open question again after Friday’s employment report for May. The U.S. added a meager 69,000 jobs, following a scant 77,000 increase in April.
The same scenario unfolded last year. Job growth started out strong but slackened off in the face of an uncertain economic outlook.
“2012 is beginning to look horribly like 2011 — initial high hopes that the recovery was kicking into high gear, subsequently dashed,” said Nigel Gault, chief U.S. economist at IHS Global Insight.
This time around, the ongoing financial crisis in Europe and a slowdown in emerging economic power China appear to be acting as a drag. The U.S. stock market, for instance, has given back all its gains in 2012 over the past few weeks as the European situation darkened.
.....He noted that the advisory firm’s most recent quarterly survey of executives showed little change in hiring plans. Some 38% expect to increase their workforce in the next sixth months, up slightly from 36% in the prior quarter. And 32% say they plan to eliminate jobs.
As the summer approaches, the catalysts for faster growth here and abroad are hard to decipher.
It's not clear to me what will happen tomorrow in the market and I'm not sure that matters all that much. I think the bigger questions ought to be why only 38% of executives intent to increase their workforce between now and November? Why 32% intend to ELIMINATE jobs? Are these folks just unAmerican?
If our Nation had a viable economic and energy plan would there be more certainty in the marketplace? Who could argue that this economic model is working?
How does the administration get the unemployment rate below 8% when it seems to be trending in the other direction with little hope of big hiring in the next 6 months? What is the plan to turn this around? Can Obama be reelected on his current economic record?
Even the liberal outlets like Huffpost and the LA Times have conceded that this is a mess and they can only make it smell so good. I think it will be a cruel, cruel summer.
But... but... but... we can still talk about Romney's bullying 50 years ago, or how about telling jokes about Greek fisherman, or trees being "just the right height." And if we really want to make a point, how about grousing about Walmart or maybe making profits. I know there is a national problem with people changing opinions. I think there is tons of important subjects to talk about except the failures of the Obama administration.
We're now three years in, three-and-a-half years in. The Democrats have long taken credit for this. David Plouffe has said Obama owns the economy. Obama has said he owns the economy. Biden has said in the past 18 months, two years, that the economy is all Obama's. But common sense-wise, we're three-and-a-half years now into the Obama administration, and the idea that any of this is lingering from George W. Bush is absurd. But they're cracking up now. They are lashing out. They're getting venomous because they've locked themselves into a corner by blaming Bush and by not talking about anything positive, 'cause they've got nothing positive to talk about.
They're flailing away wildly, and they're looking like absolute jerks, and they're sounding like jerks. I mean even Democrat websites today, even the MSNBCs and the CNNs, they're not blaming Bush today. They are so low when they look up they see the gutter. That's how depressed they are. They're not happy. They're not excited. They're not trying to blame this on Bush. By the end of the day I think they'll get their act together and resume the program. But when these job numbers hit today, these left-wing media people were absolutely depressed as they could be. They know what this means. They've been hoping to be able to carry forward a lie, a deceit.
But there's nothing. There's not one shred of good news. Bush has been off the radar for three years. Bush has not been out there, by design. These guys want to try to continue to make him a target, I'm telling you right now, it is going to fall flat. Bush long gone. Bush not in public. Bush's picture, Bush's face is not out there. Bush isn't tied to any of this. This is all Obama. This is all the Democrat Party. Steny Hoyer. Grab me sound bite six. This morning on CNBC, Squawk Box, Becky Quick to Steny Hoyer, another ranking member of the House Democrat leadership. "Why haven't we grown faster? What's the problem?"
So they're locked into this. You know, I got a suggestion, Steny Hoyer, Chris Van Hollen, all the rest of you, let's just cut to the chase, just blame George Washington. He started it all. He's the first president. Blame it on him. Or, if you want, blame it on Lincoln.
I remember hearing once that there are basically two kinds of people in the world. One group believes that they have control of their destiny and can do many things to shape their future. They hold themselves accountable for success and failure. Another group likes to blame all their shortcomings on everyone BUT themselves. I wonder what camp Obama and his supports live in?
