Obama Not Scheduled to Commemorate D-Day

By KEITH KOFFLER, whitehousedossier.com

It’s D-Day and President Obama is hitting the beaches – of sunny California!

Instead of scheduling a brief event to mark the 68th anniversary of America’s brutal landing on the shores of Normandy, Obama is already on his way to San Francisco, where he will hold two fundraisers before moving on to Beverly Hills to stage two more.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

If you wouldn't praise him for doing the event, don't damn him for not doing it. New rule for both parties?
Otis would have nothing to post , so never mind.

Someone sounds angry... Still stinging from the events of last night in the Cheese Head state?

What is more important? Honoring the allied troops that died on the beaches of Normandy for a couple of hours on one day each year or spending every single day of a presidency campaigning to be re-elected?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

With the future direction of our country being determined by this next election I hope Obama campaigns every chance he gets. Just as I expect you hope he doesn't.

And the answer to the question I posed is what? Stop the deflection and answer the question, your answer will be appreciated even if i disagree with your position.

I don't think BHO skipping this is worth mentioning. He just was at a Memorial Day event and his drone war is saving American lives in this century.

Total casualties suffered on D Day by the allied forces:

Numbers represent total killed, wounded, missing or captured

United States – 6,603 (1,465 killed)
United Kingdom – 2,700
Canada – 1,074 (359 fatal)Germany – Estimated between 4,000 – 9,000

http://www.nationalww2museum.org/media/press-releases/d-day-fact-sheet.html

Total casualties suffered in Operation Desert Storm from beginning to end:

The DoD reports that U.S. forces suffered 148 battle-related deaths (35 to friendly fire), with one pilot listed as MIA (his remains were found and identified in August 2009). A further 145 Americans died in non-combat accidents.[107] The UK suffered 47 deaths (9 to friendly fire), France two,[107] and the other countries, not including Kuwait, suffered 37 deaths (18 Saudis, 1 Egyptian, 6 UAE, and 3 Qataris).[107] At least 605 Kuwaiti soldiers were still missing 10 years after their capture.[110]

The largest single loss of life among Coalition forces happened on 25 February 1991, when an Iraqi Al Hussein (missile) hit an American military barrack in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, killing 28 U.S. Army Reservists from Pennsylvania. In all, 190 coalition troops were killed by Iraqi fire during the war, 113 of whom were American, out of a total of 358 coalition deaths. Another 44 soldiers were killed, and 57 wounded, by friendly fire. 145 soldiers died of exploding munitions, or non-combat accidents.[citation needed]

The largest accident among Coalition forces happened on 21 March 1991, a C-130H of the Royal Saudi Air Force crashed in heavy smoke on approach to Ras Al-Mishab Airport, Saudi Arabia. 92 Senegalese soldiers were killed.

The number of coalition wounded in combat seems to have been 776, including 458 Americans.[111]

190 Coalition troops were killed by Iraqi combatants, the rest of the 379 coalition deaths being from friendly fire or accidents. This number was much lower than expected. Among the American dead were three female soldiers.

Not worth mentioning?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
