IF not here is my take on the Michelle Obama speech. Once again, I don't hate anyone it is a difference in philosophy. This is why I get really upset when you make it about race. That is not fair.
My take on the speech is essentially this. She talked about how people should have things and that her parents were hard workers. That she and her family have compassion. That they know what it is to work hard. No one is disputing that. I think they were all good people. They love their family. So do the republicans.
The difference. It had nothing about how to pay for the items she believes everyone should have. I don't dispute most of that except that it always can't be given away. Someone has to pay for it. That is missing in the speech. How are we going to get people back to work? Do we take care of our sick and poor? Absolutely. Would it be better if more were giving in to the system. that is the only way to get back on our feet.
It was nice. I mean that. But it was all emotion. So far at least.
It isn't the job of the First Lady to set policy, or explain policy,.....or give details on policy....yes it was all emotion, as was Ann Romney's speech. She isn't the president, or the vice president....complaining that she didn't give policy specifics is silly, that wasn't her job.
Really liked Mayor Castro's and Moochelle Obuma's speech. Lots of passion.
And how to dupe people into buying into we need to help everyone so vote for Obuma. Nothing about how this country is failing by this very big spending. Yea, let's just give everyone more stuff, who cares about the destruction of the country.
Sorry not buying it but they made good speeches as speeches go. When you have nothing, appeal to passion.
bumper sticker - honk if you will pay my mortgage
"The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." attributed to Margaret Thatcher
"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson
Her speech was good. I will just say this though. I don't need someone who understands and reads my letters and lets me come to the white house. Now listen they all do this and it is politics. But seriously? I hope they talk about real strategy. So, that the public can decide. They are not wrong just different. I see no movement. Difference of philosophy. So, no more of the undercutting Rep are racist, greedy stuff. Difference of philosophy. They all want the same thing for the county just want to go about it in different ways.
Yeah, it was better than an old angry white guy yelling at a chair...
Or a woman who never serious worked a day in her life trying to tell us hard it was when they were young...(and had a family that was already rich...and got him out of the draft by letting him ride around France on a bicycle...) That was sooooooo compelling...

LJ, that is wrong. No offense but you obviously have no actual argument. You guys love to talk hate and racism and anger. And your statement was the only thing mean and angry. Either talk about the issues or it is going to be one long election year on 285bound. Neither side are bad people just difference of philosophy. And I didn't see any anger at the republican convention. This is normal politics on both sides. Obama has not been all sweet to Romney and neither have you. Your statements are the ones that have been angry. But oh I guess Clint Eastwood is white. YEah, he was crazy. He is 82 and didn't tell the RNC that he was going to do that. What he did probably helped because of the publicity. Once again, race brought into this again. Every single time you guys start with the racist thing I am going to call you out if I happen to see it.
So, success is wrong in America? I think we found the problem with the Obama presidency. WTH?
