Great speeches at the DNC

Yes, we will see... My bet is that the GOP isn't selling anything except "Not Obama", and the "angry white guy"** quotient isn't going to be enough to put Mittens over the top...

** -- Sen. Lindsey Graham

Edited to add: And I think if Obama wins, they're also going to pick up some more seats in both the Senate and the House. If the GOP loses, I think the strangle-hold by the nutjob teabaggers and extremists may finally be broken; I think several of the more extreme ones are going to be gone. At least I hope that's the case. Then, MAYBE, the sane ones that are more reasonable will come back to lead the party. But if they continue to go in the direction they're going, they're going to run out of "angry white guys", and the GOP as a "brand" is going to finally relegate itself to "irrelevant" under the weight of its own hatred and bigotry.

Here is my take on the differences between the ways of thinking between liberal and conservative.

Tao Te Ching is 2500 years old but I love the verses.

When taxes are too high, people go hungry.
When the government is too intrusive, people lose their spirit.

Act for the people's benefit.
Trust them, Leave them alone.

Tao te Ching

Government has become part of our economy. This is where the problem of being free is becoming more and more impossible. When we let go of government workers, it affects our economy in unemployment. This is a conflict of interest and half our issue. Our founding fathers were about freedom and the pursuit of happiness, not about government fixing our problems and deciding for individuals. We should take care of our sick and our elderly and help the poor in another way. Simple and true for me.

Warning, I may just refer to this post over and over again throughout the election. If both sides are honest about what they really want to do with the presidency and the people decide then I am perfectly willing to accept anything that comes my way. However this win at all costs and save the country from the other side is not the spirit of our country and our freedom or the United States of America. We have taken it all too far. Let's be honest and let the people decide.

Respectfully, ME

:like: I'm guessing that you believe, as I do, that we do not belong to the government, the government belongs to us... and it is We The People who are responsible for controlling the power of that government not the other way around.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Obama's daughters are expected to make an appearance at the DNC tonight, after they attend school during the day.

Slick Willy's report card from WSJ economics writer:

Former President Bill Clinton spoke last night and here's his report card.

Dynamic? Yes.

A great orator? You bet.

Factually accurate? Not a chance.

We took a look at some of his claims and found them missing a few details.

This racist thing is driving me nuts. We are all part of the human race. Ethnic and culture jokes can be funny if said in the right way but we gotta stop with the assuming. I didn't see this the first election. 285bound.com was not around then though.
