Maybe I missed something, but it seems to me the the left has been putting issues like contraception on the front pages and say little if anything about the economic situation. The Rs know their strength is in highlighting the lack of economic progress and the left knows they must change the subject. You will never see it that way but I do.archer wrote:

You're not so much concerned about the economy? This is why Obama will probably win, too many people like you have no comprehension of the severity of our economic problems. This should be the #1 issue because the health of the economy directly effects every aspect of our lives including health care. Like you said in another post, this country could not recover if unemployment stays above 8% for another 4 years. I didn't hear anything from Obama that would help PRIVATE employers who DO create the jobs and who provide all the revenue for government to spend.Raees wrote: And all Republicans want to do is go back to the same policies that got us into this financial mess in the first place. My big concern is not so much about the economy. The U.S. is resilient. It is about Romnoid ending Health Care Reform. There's no getting around that.
If the economy is the number one issue with conservatives, why then is the Republican party spending so much time on social issues? Why do we hear so much about abortion and contraception, rather than how to fix the economy? Why has the Republican house spent more time on social engineering than re-engineering the economy? Social issues may well be what keeps Romney out of the White House......by embracing the hard right stance of no abortion for anyone for any reason, including rape, incest, and the life of the mother....many women who are conservatives will not vote for him. Same with the healthcare issue........we hear repeal and replace, but for women, especially mothers, the Republicans need to detail the replace before women will vote for someone who wants to repeal it.
Sometimes I think conservatives are their own worst enemy.......they seem to go out of their way to turn off the very voters they need to put them back in the White House.......sure the big issue is the economy, as it should be, yet they act like people would be willing to give up their rights just to have a job......I personally don't think Americans will.

Well we still have a few stupid idiot republicans bringing up social issues- like the idiot in Missouri. This election is not about social issues - it's about the fact that this country is near economic collapse. And if it's not right at the edge of collapse- we are very much in danger of what Clinton said- that all our tax dollars will soon will be gobbled up with interest payments on our massive debt. We are as good as toast when that happens, so there is a limited time to fix the problem.Maybe I missed something, but it seems to me the the left has been putting issues like contraception on the front pages and say little if anything about the economic situation. I don't want their "moral values" enshrined in MY laws... Another reason why I think the GOP war-on-women is going to have terrible consequences...
