Great speeches at the DNC

Some great speeches once again tonight. Great to see and hear the heartfelt emotion, support and empathy for the average
American.

United Method pastor (and Representative from Missouri) Emanuel Cleaver:
"Look, if being liberal and progressive means that I care for children and whether they go hungry, color me! Color me a Democrat!" exhorted Cleaver in one of many deviations from his prepared remarks. "If being a Democrat means I'm concerned about our seniors in the sunset of their life, color me Democrat! Color me liberal! After all, we are the ones who protected Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, who fought for fair wages and who ended 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell.' We are Democrats! And don't you ever forget it!"

Sister Simone:
Paul Ryan claims his budget reflects the principles of our shared Catholic faith. But the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops stated that the Ryan budget failed a basic moral test, because it would harm families living in poverty.
"Our faith strongly affirms that we are all responsible for each other. I am my sister's keeper. I am my brother's keeper."
We all share responsibility for creating an economy where parents with jobs earn enough to take care of their families. In order to cut taxes for the very wealthy, the Romney-Ryan budget would make it even tougher for hard-working Americans like Billy to feed their families. Paul Ryan says this budget is in keeping with the values of our shared faith. I simply disagree.

And another tribute to the sacrifices made by our troops in Afghanistan.

How many were there at the RNC?

"Remember to always be yourself. Unless you can be batman. Then always be batman." Unknown

They should elect Bill and get rid of Obama. Obama is nothing like what he is talking about.

Four years ago Barry gave his wonderful speeches, four years later we are hearing more of the same. It's the same message and if Americans buy in they'll get four more years of the same lack of performance from a bloated government that is focused on turning anyone who has money inside out and making government bigger. It's more of the same hot air we heard four years ago, smarten up and make a change that will stop the growth of Government and promote an environment that encourages businesses to stay in America and hire people here to work in good jobs.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

I am not sure that really floats.

The Republicans just saw the height of the hole they are going to have to climb out of after President Clinton's speech.

Which candidate is focused on taxing the 1% more and more? Which candidate has managed to put more Americans on Food Stamps than ever before? Which candidate has a record of 8+% unemployment for 42 months? Did the middle class get any larger during the last four years or did the lower class grow instead? Your opinion is yours, I'm not convinced that Obama has America's best interests in mind and now we have four years of empirical evidence that Obama isn't capable of successfully governing the United States of America.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
