Kohl's Department Stores seems to have high hopes for the upcoming holiday shopping season.

The retail chain unveiled plans on Tuesday to hire 52,700 seasonal workers this year. That's a 10% jump in seasonal hiring compared to last year, according to Kohl's.

Woo hoo, more crappy jobs in the Obamarecession! You can feed a lot of families on the part time wages from this discounter (Not!). More Christmas retail news, lower lay-a-way requirements as discount chains find customers with less income to spend.

I knew someone would come along and poo poo it. Guess what? Seasonal holiday job openings are out there even in a good economy and those jobs are filled by people wanting them.

If you are unemployed and can't find fulltime work and are looking at a bleak Christmas for your family, even a "crappy job" at Kohls would help.

And that is all Obama has to offer. Good wage construction and infrastructure jobs on the Keystone pipeline? Nope. But can you come in for four hours on Black Friday at midnight? Thanks.

It has nothing to do with Obama, Fred. It's Kohls that is offering it, as they do every Christmas season.

News flash, many chains hire seasonal help every year.

The news with this one is that they are hiring 10% MORE workers, expecting that increase in business from consumers.

That is good news, although I hope they have better luck than a lot of us trying to hire help. It is amazing what the entitlement mentality does to the desire to work, or maybe it is just working hard. We've been trying to hire laborers for a few weeks, (we only hire legals) and can't seem to find any. Our guys now say that a lot of them are on food stamps and unemployment, and work for cash on side jobs, so why would they want to actually work?

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

I didn't realize that a breadwinner trying to GET A JOB to supplement their income and provide for their family was suddenly an "entitlement mentality" to the troglodytes & knuckle-draggers... Who knew?

Huh??? I think it is great for people to go and get these seasonal jobs...I was commenting on the fact that we have jobs....but people don't want them because the options available "off book" while getting unemployment are too easy.

I bet you they have TWICE AS MANY applicants (or more) than they have positions open.

And it might actually be a Dem press release since Mr Kohl is a Dem politician.
