VP Debate?

Just to clarify my statement above.

I have a 15 year old grandson.
A VP Debate is an excellent opportunity to teach a civics lesson. Instead.....I would have felt a need to explain why the 2nd highest ranking official in this country behaved the way he did. I would want to teach my grandson that though you may disagree with an ideology or a set of facts....there is a civilized way to "debate" those issues without resorting to condescending disrespectful behavior.
I would certainly never send my grandson here to get a civics lesson.

Boy, I'm glad he hasn't been subjected to all of the crap about the current president of the United States being "born in Kenya", not a real citizen, a "communist", a "socialist", a terrorist-sympathizer and all of the rest of crap thrown against the wall to see-if-it-sticks for the past 4 years.

Hypocrisy, thy name is GOTP wackos....

Actually...at 15, he is smart enough to see the problems in a very simple way. Maybe you should try sitting down with a 15 year old and see the world for a moment through their eyes. They are pretty bright and insightful.
And they are concerned at a debt that their children will have pay.
Wealth redistribution is a form of socialism.....no matter how you attempt to break it down.

"Civics" (study of citizenship: the study of the rights and duties of citizens (takes a singular verb), as in
"CIVILITY" (1. politeness: the formal politeness that results from observing social conventions, 2. polite act: something said or done in a formally polite way - Thesaurus - NOUN - Synonyms: politeness, courtesy, good manners, courteousness, respect, graciousness, consideration

IMHO, That debate WAS a perfect way to show both words in action.

Yes, I'm constantly amazed at the number of 15-year-olds that sit around worrying about their "share of the debt." ... And bike paths...and apartment buildings...and...

See LJ...you don't give anyone any credit. You are all knowing.
Tell me....have you spoken to a 15 year old lately. I have.

One of my children...at 15 was writing Bill OReilly letters in disagreement of his point of view.
I believe we have a signed book here somewhere.

The Left constantly underestimates the average American. They think obtaining a photo ID is impossible for many of their voters. They believe that American women are unable to afford simple birth control and it needs to be provided by their health insurance plans.

They also believe that women aren't smart enough to read the instructions on their birth control to use it properly.
The believe that know one is more enlightened to the"real" world than they are....hence...all the condescension.

Here is a quote from my facebook page from that same 15 year old that wrote Bill O'Reilly just a few years ago. He is now 27.

Not really critical thinking skills...it's more common sense. The guy is well staffed with social media geniuses! And since social media is all the rage with my moronic generation, it's easy to understand why they think and act the way they do. BUT...I've seen the world for what it is, and I can read through the rhetoric and bullsh*t he peddles to today's youth. I guess that's the difference between those who have worked all their life for everything they have, and those that seek handouts at every turn. Not saying anything bad about all those college students and hardworking democrats, but I would rather have EARNED my entitlements than just have them shoved down my throat making me reliant upon them from the start.

Actually, that fb post is a real good example of "condescension". Does that make him a liberal? lol
